Description: The Trattoria Moderna " Il Mattacchione" is a small restaurant located in the north part of Olbia, not far from the main road that take you to the harbor, to the airport and to Costa Smeralda. In this small family-run trattoria, with about 35 seats inside and other 35 seats outside(only during the summertime),you will be greeted with courtesy and professionalism. In the trattoria " Il Mattacchione" you can dive into the Sardinian's culinary tradition, reviewed with the eyes of a young couple,Giuseppe and Rossella, who have a deep love for their land and for all the products it offers. And so driven by a strong passion for food and for cooking, that Giuseppe will make you healthy meals prepared with fresh ingredients. Quality, professionalism and courtesy are the keywords of the Trattoria Moderna "Il Mattacchione".

We were there without reservation and were just lucky to get a table as someone did cancel. Food is excellent and even the fuzzy kids liked it. Service was fantastic. No more to say really. Worth the extra Euro.

A bit out of the way if staying in centre Olbia but very worth the visit as food is truly amazing. Waitresses are very passionate about the food on the menu. Everything on the menu is so delicious.
Book to avoid disappointment!

We booked the restaurant on the basis of reviews here and were not disappointed.

We were early and got a table of our choice.

The menu including specials were well explained to us and we ordered a combination of their specials and items from the menu.

Not even a single course was disappointing - each of the items we ordered were delicious and well made. Serving sizes are good (medium - not small but not too big).

The seafood trio starter, the mussels cappuccino, the pasta, fish and finally dessert all exceeded expectations.

They do a small twist on the traditional items which make things interesting.

Very warm hosts and we felt well looked after. Prices are quite reasonable as well.

Highly recommend this restaurant while you are in Olbia.

Thank diggerati

Great service great food
I would never come in when I pass this restaurant but after reviews I could read on TripAdvisor we decide to come here. It was really good idea. You will not get lot food for main course because this is not this kind of restaurant. Here you can feel fusion meal !!!
If you want to try you are welcome
My wife doesn't like desert but when she tried here she got culinary orgasm ;)

We saw this restaurant in the lonely planet guide and so went along to try it out. Unfortunately it was closed due to an injury to the chef but we went along the next night and so glad we did. Really surprised at the quality of the food as well as presentation and excellent personal service. My husband was very pleased with the selection of sheep's cheese with two different relishes and 5 different types of home made bread. I had the 30 hour cooked port belly and it melted in my mouth. Finally we had the panna cotta which was wonderful. Highly recommend the best experience of our trip so far. Easy to find and plenty of nearby parking. Worth a visit.
