What a delightful evening we had! We felt right at home from the moment we stepped through the doors. Giorgio and his wife have established a quaint and welcoming ambiance to enjoy the authentic food offered on their menu. Giorgio is generous with the time he spends with his patrons and is patient explaining the meals and local ingredients used to prepare the superb presentations The dining area is well designed and the decor is casual yet elegant. There is a “secret garden” at the rear of the restaurant which is quite lovely. I sincerely hope that this new restaurant (only 3 months in operation) develops loyal and frequent patrons of which it is most deserving. We were in Palermo on holiday and were fortunate to happen upon this restaurant while visiting. We had a lot of laughs with Giorgio and felt like he was an old friend before we closed the restaurant at the end of the evening. This dinner was a memorable experience during our trip. The varied desserts we sampled were out of this world!

Also recommended by hotel, nice setting in an enclosed courtyard. We were a group of 9, first in the restaurant at 20:30. Two other large groups within next 30 minutes or so, along with a couple of smaller tables. Only 1 waiter for entire restaurant; eventually one large group and one couple left without eating. Food was fair. The fish was very good, the pasta ok, with one of the seafood pasta dishes so salty it could not be eaten. Price was average to our meals the previous two nights. There are better restaurants nearby.

Recommended by hotel front desk. Welcoming , seemingly friendly. Owner gracious . Waiter didnt speak any english nor did he try to understand us. ( i think he knew more that he let on) . In any case , as most travelers know, this is expected and can usually be worked around ( and is even fun) and often with good results. I think in this case ,he used enthusiasm and lack of any second language ...to rush us, to “trust” his recommendations and to later ignore us. The osteria was not very busy, mostly tourists ( it was early) and i noticed he treated them with the same routine and manner. Never rudely but certainly heavy handedly. Strangely we ( 3 tables) all had the same wine, the same antipasti and the same ( relatively more expensive) lobster special . The food was average . The quality average. The manner is which ( non local) customers were “ managed” was not good. We found better osterias and a trattorias in Palermo during the next 4 days. Tourist be cautious.

This was a recommendation from the night clerk at our hotel. It is unremarkable from the outside, but all the good stuff is inside. Small, simple decor but with a bit of elegance, great attention to the quality of the food. Mostly locals; we did not see or hear another tourist. While the menus were in Italian, we had no trouble understanding the items on the menu and selecting. The owner/waiter made wonderful recommendations for both food and the wine; the white wine was spectacular. The owner/waiter was extremely gracious. There is a chocolate dessert that is to die for. A bit off the beaten track, but in a good way.
