Great location in the center of Palermo, good food, excellent coffee. Very clean, modern furnished, spacious rooms. Only one 'disadvantage' - a lot of stairs (there is an elevator as well, but rather slow). Anyway if I will visit Palermo once again I will definitely stop in this hotel.

Dear guest thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our hotel. Our rooms always clean and comfortable, our restaurant that serves a breakfast full of typical and delicious cakes, then our coffee is a must.
The Quintocanto is located in the historic center, right in the heart of the city, and from here you can visit churches, museums, palaces, bars and restaurants. In short, you have everything at hand. The hotel is located in an old palace and the structure has several stairs and elevators. But this is a peculiarity of our hotel: the architecture that links the ancient with the modern, the past and the contemporary. We are glad you enjoyed everything. Greetings

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and only realized when we saw our room that we had been upgraded to a suite. Staff are very helpful, front desk quietly efficient and the service at breakfast friendly and cheerful.
Hotel is well located at the heart of the old central district so you can pop in and out to visit all that Palermo has to offer the tourist.
Will definitely be back at this hotel when we return to Palermo in a few days time.

Located right at the "4 corners", centre of Palermo - close to the cathedral and the palace, great for sightseeing. The area is a bit rundown so some might prefer to stay in new Palermo further north (with fountains, wide boulevards, posh shops) and come downtown to sightsee. Hotel is interestingly constructed in and around an old building and there is another hotel in the same building (!) so it's quite interesting. Very modern style with some of the flaws (eg. NOT ONE DRAWER in the entire hotel room - an ongoing bugbear for me with trendy hotels - I travel light but I do have SOME clothes to store!). Quirky stuff, for example they advertise their "free" spa (hot tub, sauna etc) but then charge a fee for a "kit" (towel and slippers!) to use it; they provide a kettle in the room but only tea, no coffee. Felt a bit like "nickel and diming". Breakfast was great. Bad smell in some of the corridors, especially on the first floor.

Room tip: some rooms have views of the church steeple next door but it's very close (no bells)

Dear Guest, we want to thank you very much for having chosen to stay at our hotel situated in the heart of Palermo. We appreciate a lot you decided to review our hotel, because every comment helps us to better understand our guests' needs and to satisfy them the best way we can. However, we are afraid to read that you did not fully enjoy your stay at Quintocanto Hotel. We are used to specify all our guests they have to pay a little money to access to our spa service, it is just to receive the basic kit to enjoy the wellness path. The wellness service itself is free for all our guests, so they only have to pay for the kit. We are sorry, you did not find any drower inside the wardrobe, but we provide every room with bedside tables and every wardobe has different comfortable shelves. It is a choise that matches the spirit of the interior design of the hotel itself. Besides, we do not provide any soluble coffe in the rooms, but only tea. But according to our guests' requests, you can order a coffee at the American bar at every time of the day or you can have the coffee delivered directly in your room. The bad smells you smelled were coming from the outside of the hotel. It happens when it rains a lot and some sewers get broken or flooded. Anyway it does not depend on us and the municipality of Palermo is about to definetely solve this problem. Our best greetings from Palermo

My partner and I spent 2 nights here to mark the end of a fabulous vacation in Sicily spent over several towns in 8 days. This hotel has excellent location being in the centre of town, at Quattro Canti. However, there's no prominent signage and the lady who runs the florist stall next to it didn't even have any knowledge when we showed her a printed piece of paper with name, address and photo of the hotel. This hotel has been renovated from Palazzo Viola with modern yet minimalist design. The staff is friendly and helpful. We found shortcomings in providing for creature comfort such as bedroom slippers given that the marble / granite floor is cold to bare feet. For a 4 star hotel,we are accustomed to have bathrobes too. There's no wall mounted rack to hold the mini plastic bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the shower cubicle. We ended placing these at the bottom of the shower cubicle and which posed safety concern should these be washed around and accidentally stepped on by us during shower. The extracter ventilation in the bathroom didn't work either. There's no proper space for ladies to do make -up. When we checked in, the electronic smart tag pass didn't work I.e.can't open glass access door towards lift area and our room door. Fortunately the porter used his spare tag to open these. Then we noticed a large crack on the glass window in our room when we pulled open the curtains. We immediately notified our porter. Our immediate impression of a quality 4 star hotel was surely dented. As the hotel was a conversion of an old property the way from the lobby to our room was a maze of zigzags including taking 2 different lifts for 3rd level.Given the relatively complicated walkway there's no signage to show directions to the lobby. The 1st level was also an access to another hotel. After our 1st night, the chamber staff forgot to replenish the 2 complimentary bottles of drinking water and the instant coffee and tea sachets. Whilst the bathroom is very clean and modern the toilet seat (plastic ) was uneven in that 3 out of the 4 plastic casters had been broken. This means the the cleaning staff didn't notice the fault or reported to management. At the supervisory level, no one lifted toilet seats for inspection nor tested the ventilation fan. The wash basin was too tiny in relation to the overall size of the bathroom.
Breakfast didn't meet our expectations. The ambience is very pretty but we had much better breakfasts in less expensive hotels in Sicily. The fruit juices tasted more like cordial, the precooked scrambled eggs were dry and hardened (about 9am) and there were only 2 pieces of bacon left and for which there was no replenishment. We didn't request for more bacon in order to test the quality of service. The variety of breakfast items is comparatively less with more emphasis on bakery items.
Our observation of these shortcomings on the whole is a wake -up call to management at all levels to put in the proverbial "extra mile " to heighten the standing of this otherwise most prominent hotel building.
We wish management success and hopefully have a better experience should we find ourselves back here.

Dear Guest, we thank you very much for having chosen our hotel in Palermo. We appreciate the fact you published your review here, because it helps us to grow profesionally up. We are always opened to compliments and to criticism as well. From critics we can better understand our guests' needs and how to satisfy them. There are some aspects of our hotel you did not like so much and we are sorry for that. However, our rich buffet offered for breakfast offers both Italian and international products, every kind of Sicilian street food meal and a lot of drinks. So it is a complete buffet, ideal for every kind of palate. Our four stars is an elegant design hotel furnished miminal, thanks to its relaxing atmosphere, and its central location is ideal both for business travelers and for those who are exploring the city centre sites. Our exclusive SPA, with wellness program, consisting of sauna, turkish bath, Jacuzzi and massage, makes you ready to discover (do not mind if for lunch or dinner) tasteful dishes of the excellent cuisine of our restaurant "Locanda del Gusto". It will make you live an unforgettable experience in the heart of Palermo. The beauty of the historical building that hosts the hotel itself, the kindness and availability of the staff, the central position of the hotel, the great view of some rooms on the Church of San Giuseppe dei Teatini or on the internal atrium; they are all aspects that make our hotel unique. Kind regards from the lovely town of Palermo
