The central location could not have been better. Staff were very helpful and sorted out a couple of issues with transport very professionally. Breakfast was tasty. Would head here again when next in Palermo.

Room Tip: No room tip.

I have staid 5 nights in this hotel, which is an old palazzo from 1500 and has been transferred to a hotel only recently (if I have got it right). I have chosen it for the location as it is in the middle of the Centro storico, on the crossway between two main streets. It is also 10 min on foot from the central station, 10 min from Palazzo reale and so on. This is really great. The rooms and bathrooms were exteremely clean and the staff nice and helpful.
The only thing is the noise (but you have get used to it if you want to visit Palermo anyway). The main road where the hotel is situated has been transferred to to a pedestrian zone, so there is no noise from there, but there is just a bit of noice from the inner court with the restaurant & small parking. The breakfast is just ok: it is not too exaggerated, but very tasty. You will have your fried eggs or fresh ricotta or fresh orange juice! I am sure you can find cheaper hotels in Palermo as well, but if you are looking for something with style and comfort but still not too big - go for it!

The Quintocanto is a boutique hotel whose staff are so busy trying to be chic and trendy that they've forgotten how to be hospitable. As other posters have noted, the location is great and the faucets attractive apart from expected wear and tear. What was unexpected was the cool, aloof manner and general disinterest hotel staff displayed toward guests. Although I stayed at the property for seven nights, staff never learned my name, room number or coffee preferences. Some requests to front desk staff were greeted with a sneer.

A general lack of warmth was compounded by other problems that detracted from the experience. Breakfast, which should be served from seven a.m. to ten a.m., was invariably late; often food would not be set out until 7:30. After checking out at 7:00 a.m. and turning up for breakfast, I found no food at all and was that the espresso machine had not been turned. After a tense ten-minute wait ( I had a train to catch) a waiter produced a coffee and an apology, which I appreciated. But this did not compensate for a 15 Euro breakfast that was missed because theboho breakfast staff had trouble getting g out of bed.

Another issue is the hotel's restaurant, which is located in a courtyard fronting guest rooms and is open to the pubic. I did not dine at the restaurant and therefore cannot comment on the food or dinner service. But guests and staff were often noisy well into the night. On a Saturday, guests did not depart until after 1:00 p.m., and we're boisterous enough to prevent sleep. This was followed by the noise of servers cleaning, scraping chairs and tables across the pavers and talking.

The Quintocanto is more expensive than other nearby hotels, and it trys to justify this price and it's four-star rating with decor. But more attention should be paid to the service offered to guests. There's much room for improvement.

Dear Guest,
we would like to thank you for the time you spent in writing your comment. It is very important for us to improve the quality of our service.
It is nice to read that you enjoyed the location of the hotel, nearby all the main cultural heritages of Palermo City centre. It was also evident from the fact that you dediced to spend one more night at Quintocanto Hotel.
We feel surprised at hearing about the bad feeling you had about our staff, who is always proactive and prompt to satisfy every guest's needs. From the valet to the receptionist, til the waiter, everyone is very proactive and puts the right attention to the needs of all our guests, not only because we are a four star rating hotel, but also because it is foundamental for us to give our warm welcome and make our guests feel like home.
As you could appreciate, the hotel is located in a XV century building, whose main characteristics is the internal courtyard around which at that time life developed. Our restaurant is situated inside the courtyard and like many other Sicilian restaurants it is the ideal place for tourists and citizens, who love our food and appreciate our special recipes. During the days spent with us, there was a special event at the restaurant, because our chefs had just won a prestigeous price for their job and special recipes. Therefore journalists and personalities were invited to celebrate the price. If the party was so laud to disturb you, we want to apologise. It was our hope that each guest present at the hotel was going to celebrate with us.
We directly checked with the restaurant about breakfast time. They try to satisfy also guests who arrive a little bit earlier (like at 7:00 am), but at that time in the morning the coffee machine needs some minutes to get warm and be used. Starting from 7:00 am everything for the breakfast buffet is ready and we wait for the first guests to come in order to serve them warm fried eggs and salted dishes. Our breakfast is full of sweet and salt dishes like scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, salami and cheese, baked potatoes, salads, vegetables, yogurt, butter, fresh bread, croissants, biscuits and pastries, jams and honey, fresh homemade cakes. We want to make our guests feel like home.
Thank you again for the time you spent,
Kind Regards
