We enjoyed a lovely 4-night stay at this property in August. As we were celebrating our anniversary, the hotel graciously upgraded us to a lovely ground floor room with a garden and a view over the Arno. Unfortunately, this garden was directly beside the dining room and there was a distinct lack of privacy, so we asked to be moved. Again, an amazing second floor room was provided, still with a view over the Arno and the old mill. The staff were excellent throughout our stay - striking the right balance between helpful and reserved. The food was of good quality - dinner was distinctly better than breakfast - and the shuttle was an excellent option for getting to the city and back (less than 15 minutes one-way).
Prior to the trip, I worried about being far away from town (while simultaneously craving a view of the Tuscan countryside and the Arno) - after witnessing the sheer intensity of Florence and the crowds there, it was refreshing to come back to this oasis and relax. Being here also made it easy to drive to other parts of Tuscany and we were able to get out to Montepulciano and Pienza at our convenience.More
