The historic house of Dante was in the neighborhood, but in the eighteen century it was decided to buy that area, who happened to be for sale, raze all the later building, and rebuild almost entirely some middle-age-looking building as a tribute to the great man. they run some second rate art gallery in the premises, and in the tower on the right, which is not a fake, there is a small and mildly interesting museum. Pretty enough, but not worth a detour; just walk on and spend more time in Badia Fiorentina; now that's a real relic of the past!
