Very cclean, with nice and spacious lounge. Nice room. Only gripe is that there is now a charge for the parking on site, which used to be included in the price and that the street where the hotel is situated, became seedy.

The Hotel was a good base for a 5 day trip to Florence. Comfortable rooms in a quiet hotel. Staff were helpful and had a good command of English. Breakfast was adequate with a good selection of foods on offer.

Clean, neat, rooms comfortable, no big deal. Breakfast typical, waitstaff a bit stiff. BEWARE-at night Via Palazzuola (just up from hotel and a walkway to more central locations) has become a drunk hangout. Many immigrants apparently like to meet on the street or at a "Club". Carabinieri were stationed at intersection until about 7PM. Suspect hotel will have problems if issues not resolved. Area seems to have become a bit "seedy".

Room Tip: We would not select it given a choice re: schedule. It is quite convenient to train station, daytim...

You will find all the conveniences of a 4 stars hotel, in a very central location, you are within 15 min walk from most tourist attractions in Florence; a nice surprise - hotel's private parking.
Rooms extremely clean, spacious bathroom, friendly staff (well, mostly), great breakfast. I can think of only 2 minuses: internet access is very expensive and not many options, and per pay TV was not working, though it was advertised.

The best thing about the Hotel Adriatico is the secure car park adjoining the hotel. It is close to the river so a pleasant walk to the centre of the city. It is very near the Santa Maria Novella Church and station.
We have found this time it is getting pricier as they now charge 20 euros a day for car parking, there is a 4 euro charge for city tax and internet has to be paid for. However, there are 2 internet places nearby if you don't want to use your own laptop. The rooms are good and there are some with walk in showers which is useful if you are unsteady on your legs. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. English speaking reception staff. One idea was useful, pink and blue towels in the bathroom! Tea-coffee making/iron/ironing board available on request. Nice bed linen. It is a comfortable hotel.

Room Tip: We chose rooms overlooking car park with walk in shower (superior room 424/324 etc are good). If you...

The hotel was visually lovely. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Rooms were a nice size and had a Tuscan feel. Location was good, within walking distance to the city center. The beds were rather firm, so be prepared for that. There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms and you have to pay for it ($10 Euro for 1 hour).

Stayed twice in Grand Hotel Adriatico during August last year. Chose the property for the combination of relatively "reasonable" price and close proximity to the centre of Florence and Railway station. Have to admit that I am a bit surprised with the chain of positive reviews which seem to overpraise this hotel. Will try to explain why:
Positives first and there is in my view only one really-good location, only 3-5 mins walking from train station. Very convenient as many tourists (if not the majority) arrive to the city from Pisa. It's also very close to Arno river (1min) with a very pleasant walk along river banks to the famous Ponte Vecchio and central Florence (approx 10 mins)
Negatives-for any traveller, even not much experienced it will become clear very quickly it's NOT a 4* hotel and it's not very correct for the hotel as well for numerous travel agencies to advertise it as such. From outside it's looks more like ordinary apartment block rather than a hotel. In my view hotel' decor is somewhat outdated and in need of upgrade. Rooms are comfortable enough to spend a night in but are of a 3* level and of moderate medium size. However the main reason I don't feel the hotel deserves positive reviews is the quality and choice offered at breakfast. I travel quite extensivelly around Europe and can honestly say that breakfast there was the worst I have had in any hotel! Very small choice (hardly any in fact), cold meets and cheeses had funny smell and didn't taste nice at all. Coffee served by waiters was disgusting. And that's in Italy! Country famous all over the world for its delicious and amazing cuisine. I think this tells all the story! Hotel charges for the Internet, as far as I remember it's around 5 Euros for an hour. Don't be bothered! There is an Internet cafe literally 10 metres away where you will pay a fraction of hotel price (don't forget to bring ID as it's a legal requirement in Italy). To summarise the hotel is acceptable choice if you simply plan to use it as a base to explore beautiful Florence. Also very convenient if one plans to explore other towns in Tuscany such as Pisa and Sienna as railway station is close by. However if you look for a higher standards of accommodation and quality of food look elsewhere. I wouldn't generally complained too much about the establishment but I was really put off by the fact that they openly mislead customers about the hotel rating and charge rather high, 4 star prices for a very moderate and rather basic 3* property.
