“An Excellent Hotel!!!”
Reviewed 3 April 2012

We recently went on a long weekend to Florence and choose the Hotel Benvenuti. We did not really know what to expect but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a great location- walking distance to all the major sites. The breakfast was fresh and tasty and provided a great start to the day. The rooms was clean spacious and warm. Our bathroom was also good and the hot shower was great after being out all day. The hotel was excellent value for the room and breakfast. I was in well during the trip and because of this was unable to fly home. This was not a problem as the hotel had space. Perhaps the best point, I fact something that truly made the holiday was the staff. They were all so kind and welcoming. The people on reception were cheery and very helpful as we're the staff at breakfast and the cleaners. The we're wonderful... The true highlight of the hotel!,

From a hotel, i always want the following, a clean spacious room, a comfortable bed, nice hot shower and a friendly welcome, this hotel ticked all the boxes for me...great value for money from this friendly 2 star hotel approximately 20 minute walk from the station 10 minutes from the main centre and attractions a taxi from the station cost just 8.40 euros and was worth it to save navigating maps with luggage

Room Tip: book direct online with the hotel i found i got a better rate

On our 7 night stay in italy, we arrived in Rome (2 nights), then train to Sorrento(2 nights, then train to Florence (2 nights) then back to Rome (1 night) then home. We took a Train from Sorrento to Naples----the main train station. Then Naples to Florence, it was about $99 USD and took about 3hrs to arrive in Florence. We tripadvisored Hotel Benvenuti. Totally recommend to anyone!!! The hotel was a little tricky to find but its because we werent familiar with the streets. THe hotel is literally on the same street as the Duomo-pretty cool.
Hotel itself: walking distance from the main train station--Santa Maria Novella(about 15 min on very cobblestone streets lol) .On the walk to the hotel is where we encountered trouble (hahaha). No physical danger but dangerous to our wallets-----wow leather goods everywhere. We dropped off our luggage and returned to buy tons of leather goods. The room was pretty cool, Ikea furniture. Big room, comfy bed, TV was in italian but we did enjoy watchin MTV real world ---Jersey shore in italian subtitles lolol. Clean room, clean towel, clean shower. The hotel offered an amazing breakfast buffet which we missed the first night but very happy we caught the 2nd day. Amazing croissants, bread, jelly, cappucino---very cool and much cheaper than buying on the street.
The staff: there was a young lady, she was so helpful!!!! I forgot her name but she was there everyday...gave us a great map and circled places to visit, eat and wrote bus #...she was excellent-thank you.
Wifi: offered free in the common room, which was cool----TV, couches, chairs, table. They also offered wifi in the room but save the money and use the free wifi in the common room.
The hotel was cool looking inside---red walls or lighting----kind of made it look like twilight or vampirish....not scary but cool looking. I would totally recommend to anyone staying in Florence who is out all day and just looking for a clean, convenient location .
Duomo is about 10 min walk--very cool to see during day and night. Tons of restaurants everywhere------and pack light. Leather good market is about 10 min away------i brought an entire luggage filled with leather wallets, shoes, boots, and handbags. i would return to florence for the views, food and leather lolol!

"We've made a very good choice picking the "benvenuti". We arrived at hotel Benvenuti at late night . The entrance is not as beautiful as the hotel. As we entered in the hotel we felt much better. The guy at the desk told us that many hotel in Florence are located inside anonimous buildings. The room was painted mostly red and cream colors. Comfty bed and good bathroom. The place only has 2 stars but i think it should be 3 even if i don't know that much about italians way of ratings hotels. Breakfast is served in a cute big room. It's mostly an italian breakfast but a very kind girl prepared us cappuccino and croissant were warm and tasty as the cake ( i believe this was home made...wow !).
Thanks to the reception for all their great tips for restaurants!"

thanks a million or i should say it in my language "grazie mille" for all you wrote about us. It's true that there is a big difference between the main door entrance and the hotel. Luckly we have lots of spaces inside the hotel. People like you understood our efforts to make all ambients a place to relax. We are going to make everyday something new...it's a family business but we want all kind of people to feel like they have the place they want. Grazie mille once more !!!

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. We were honestly quite impressed 'cause we have spent 70 euros and we've slept in a room that was worth more money. The room was quite big and it had a tv with international channels. Bathroom was clean . Don't get me wrong this is not a luxury hotel, actually when you arrive you can be disappointed as the entrance is quite dark. The hotel is on the second floor, there is a tiny lift that takes you up. The reception is well managed, there was even a girl who spoked our language. Italy is not that cheap but if i'll go back to Florence i believe i'll stay here.......breakfast cakes and croissant were good and italian coffee is unbeatable !

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and sunny"

This was my first time in Florence and hence to this hotel. First, the location was great. Although there are several bus lines which passes just in front of the hotel, we preferred not to take a bus almost all time since everything was reachable by walking from the hotel in about 5-10 minutes.

On the other hand, the room was very well decorated and comfortable. There is free Wi-Fi available in common areas.

A special mention to the staff that was really helpful and kind all time. Definitely, it was a great deal and of course I would recommend it.
