The hotel saved us from a pretty miserable situation. When we arrived at our rented "apartment" we were horrified. We sat on the front steps of the apartment building scrolling through Trip Advisor. We found a free room at the Hotel Alessandra. We called and Monti answered our call. He was absolutely wonderful, understanding, and sympathetic. We arrived at 8pm, and when I explained I walked with a cane, he wrote a notation, and he and the rest of the staff, went out of their way to help me.
The hotel is central to everything important to see in Florence. Since we were so last minute we couldn't stay in the lovely suite Monti had us in the first night. However, the simple room we stayed in the next 2 nights was clean and had every comfort. It is a wonderful hotel and I highly recommend it.More
