We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Giglio. The location was perfect and the graciousness of the owners made the experience that much more enjoyable. We were greeted initially by Roberto, who welcomed us when we arrived late at night. The next morning we enjoyed a lovely breakfast and conversation with Manuela and Marco. They were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our entire stay. The hotel rooms were very clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The hotel is walking distance from everything: the train station and all main attractions in Florence. Overall, we give Hotel Giglio the highest review. A great hot, but above all, it was the owners that made our experience so special. We will return for sure and we highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Florence!

Very knowledgable and accomodating staff whether it be directions, information, calling a cab or helping with our luggage. Walking distance to Doumo and most main attractions. Clean, nice continental breakfast. Was very happy with my this and would absolutely return!

like other reviews, we loved this hotel. Charming, welcoming, comfortable and clean.
We stayed three nights - we moved from room 19 (street side) to room 10 (bigger with large bathroom) as the noise from the street was a bit loud for us given we had been travelling a lot and needed to catch up on some sleep. Staff were very easy to deal with and we liked the fact that it was close enough to the city center, but in a reasonably quiet area. The staff could not have been more attentive. Cannot recommend more highly. there is a laundromat nearby at San Gallo it is coin operated eg 1 euro for 10 minutes drying etc which is very handy for people like us travelling for four weeks!
also there is a really good restaurant nearby #50 out of 2000 - it is Antico Trattoria Da Tito - it is 5 minutes away but a MUST when in Florence - you may need to book in advance - one of the best casual dining reasonable priced restaurants in Florence with excellent food and wine and service

Room Tip: suggest a quieter room off the street eg room 10

I cannot recall another hotel where the staff were so friendly and helpful. It took me 20 minutes to walk from the hotel to the main sdquare and the Duomo.
It was my first visit to Florence and the staff were a mine of information on everything I needed to know If like me you wish to visit the opera house and ask in the stereet you will probably be directed to the old opera house. The hotel staff had forewarned me of the location of the new opera house - a good hour's walk but it was worth it.
