Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location for walking or taking the bus to sites. Good free breakfast. Kinda small rooms and minimal air conditioning, but that was true for every hotel we stayed in in four cities.

We had a pleasant stay at a nice hotel.

The air conditioning worked very well, and the rooms were big and clean. However the bathroom was small.

The breakfast was OK, but nothing fancy with a lot of variety in the coffee.

The staff was helpful.

The hotel lies between the train station and the cathedral which makes it quite central.

Avoid this hotel if at all possible.
Not at all what was advertised.
When we arrived had a very rude and unhelpful receptionist. First room we were given the door didn't close properly, the plug sockets didn't work.
Moved to a bigger room, however this was 2 single beds pushed together to make a queen and came apart during the night.
Wifi is terrible keeps cutting out.
The stench from the drains in the bathroom is just awful.
The shower, air con and fridge are decent.
It's not as central as described and not the easiest to get to from SMN station.

While we thoroughly enjoyed Florence, it's a good thing we didn't have to spend too much of our time at this hotel. Room was cramped, cold, and noisy. No extra pillows or blankets either even when I asked. Front desk staff were snooty. Wouldn't recommend staying here unless you upgrade to a nicer room and speak Italian.

Dear Karen,
we are sorry that you didn't appreciate your stay with us. We are very surprised to receive a negative comment on our stuff that, as can also be seen from previous reviews, it is considered to be one of our strengths. We inform you that the front desk girls speak fluent English, Italian, French and Spanish. As for the room, it would have sufficed to ask at reception and we proceeded immediately to change it.

Hoping to welcome you again.

We loved Hotel Cimabue. The receptionists were all very kind and helpful. They spoke English pretty well and they were so sweet. We were able to leave our luggage in a closet because we arrived before check-in time. We were happy with our room and we thought the mattress was pretty comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and decently sized. The breakfast was indeed included and pretty good. Breads, cereals, meats and cheeses, and hot drinks. We were pleasantly surprised. The location was pretty nice too. We felt like we were tucked away enough but close enough to everything. We got around Italy by train and the walk from the station wasn't more than a 10-15 min walk. Unlike some of our other hotels we actually did have free wifi in our room. I would stay here again.
