Needed a good value hotel, in a good location for a weekend break to Florence. Having searched around, many hotels like a large proportion of Northern Italian hotels seemed quite dated. this one looked slightly different and had good reviews. We upgraded to a slightly bigger room, which was a good size, and the bathroom was nice, big and modern with a rain shower. Styling had clearly been updated to move with the times and is better than many, however still slightly behind - however must stress for the value the rooms are excellent. Free Breakfast was fantastic, great service with the cappuccino's every morning, and a good selection of Italian pastries and cakes, fruit, salami's cheese bread, cereal and eggs. A good start to the day! The location is great, a few minutes walk away from the Duomo, and 15 mins to the river and train station, excellent location. Staff very accommodating, rooms cleaned every day. And big mention to Riccardo for taking the time when we arrived to point out what to do and see in the time we had in Florence, how long and how to get to all the places. And most important, where to eat and where not to eat! his recommendations were excellent, a restaurant round the next street called mangiafuoco bracerie was fantastic, small but great food and not expensive.
