Caffe Pasticceria Serafini
Ranked #29 of 83 Bakeries in Florence
Price range: US$3 - US$12
Description: Serafini Pasticceria Coffee is today a quality café, combining its pastry production with more and more cured breakfast and a wide variety of yeasts; The leaves are filled with cream, rice cream, but also apricot jams, rowan more, citrus fruit, like the vast range of rice puddings stuffed with jams and chocolate. In the pastry shop, the pistachio, hazelnut, chocolate, chantilly and zabaione are now famous. Serafini Pasticceria Coffee has adopted, as a strong point, the Caffè Fornacino from the Caffè delle Fornaci in Sesto Fiorentino, which harmonizes every type of confectionery. At lunchtime, Cafe Serafini offers a wide choice of hot dishes, with variations of rice, pasta, meat and vegetables of all kinds. The Serafini Pasticceria Coffee is also an excellent setting for a rich aperitif with a rich buffet. The venue is popular with professionals, managers, singles, career women, mums and anything else, a guaranteed point of reference. The Serafini Pasticceria Coffee is also a location for exhibitions of visual art, paintings, photographs and art exhibitions. It prefers figurative art and focuses on quality photography and contemporary art.

After living in Florence for a month, I decided my favourite part of my stay was the cafe my boyfriend and I went to every morning. Serafini we found after it was suggested to us our first night arriving in Florence, and luckily it was right down the street, not even a three minute walk from our apartment. Our first day we went in for breakfast and a cappuccino, and politely asked "parla Englese" and they promptly answered "no." We were both a little nervous to try and communicate in our very, very broken Italian, but we managed none the less. Over the next few days we met a few of the staff who spoke a little more English. However, all the staff were always friendly, helpful, and happy to see us. The staff was patient in understanding what we tried to order, and helped us learn some basic Italian. By the end of our month, we could order a croissante con crema, a bocconcini and prosciutto panino, and due cappuccini. Serafini also provides an excellent and fair priced apertivo in the evenings, with a great selection of food and drinks. The Serafini staff were always welcoming, always friendly, and they really made my Italian cafe experience amazing. The pastries were always fresh and so delicious, and the cappuccino was to die for. And the prices were incredibly reasonable, especially for a student travelling on a budget! You can get high quality food and drinks for an incredibly low and fair price. My favourite drink I ever tried was called Fornacino Freddo, which was a shot of espresso with fresh dark chocolate shavings and fresh made vanilla gelato. It is a must try!

Just outside the old walls and through the gate at Piazza Beccaria is Serafini - a fabulous pasticceria known and loved by locals. With fabulous pastries and coffee in the morning, a good choice of lunches, and more beautiful pastries through the day, they finish with a fabulous aperitivo (almost apericena) with lots of vegetables and great flavours.
With indoor and outdoor seating, they maximize their space - well worth strolling through the centre to enjoy this local haunt.

We are fortunate to have this cafe across the street from our apartment. We stop in in the morning for cappuccino and brioche. It is often crowded but do not let that put you off. It is worth the wait, which really isn't all that long. The also make a mean panini for lunch. You can also order a plate of food. Today I had turkey, roast potatoes and roasted cauliflower for lunch and Jim and a "toast" (a turkey and cheese sandwich in this case). Lunch with a large bottle of water only set us back 10.50 Euro! A great price for a really good lunch. Much better than any tourist shop in the center of town. Enjoy

We came here every morning for breakfast. Got 2 cappuccinos and 3 different pastries every day for under 6 euro. All the pastries we tried were fantastic. One of our favorite places to visit in Florence.
