Maurizio and Andrea have been sharing their home near Incisa in Tuscany for the last 17 years and you immediately get the impression that they know what they are doing and enjoy it. They (and their whole family) are really friendly and helpful, chatting and sharing tips and information, without ever being intrusive. We were welcomed with home-made olive oil and local wine and were packed up with a picnic for the journey home!
The rental property is immediately adjacent to the main house, which is an impressive manor house / farm, and its main entrance is at the rear, which gives you privacy. There is outside seating and a large table, with a swimming pool and swings on the highest of the garden’s terraces. The grounds of the house are full of mature trees, shrubs and potted plants and there are plenty of places to sit or swing in a hammock to enjoy the views. Inside there is a kitchen, with stairs (a tiny bit sleep for the very young and old) going up to two bedrooms and a shower room. Everything has a rustic and authentic feel and is, of course, spotlessly clean.
The location of the house is a little out of the way (although the instructions for getting there were good) which means that you’ll need to drive to get to a supermarket or find a place to eat (at least 15 mins each). This was fine for us since we have small children and ate out during day trips, while eating in in the evenings.
We made us of the close proximity to Florence for a day trip.
A really nice, relaxing week in the sun.
