Stayed here with my small group tour a few weeks ago. Lucca is a great destination and gave us the best feel for a real Italian city of any place we visited. The location couldn't be better – less than a minute from the wall walkway surrounding the old city, less than a block from one of the main shopping streets, and surrounded by cafes and dessert shops and restaurants and bars. We stayed in the room Tulipano' and it was unsatisfactory for two reasons, both having to do with its location above the restaurant and reception area on the front of the hotel; the first night we we kept awake because of a dinner event booked in the restaurant and throughout our visit, the guests would use the area just outside the front door and below our room windows for smoking. The noise and smelly air ruined our visit here. Breakfast was OK, but not the best we had while in Italy. They offered a selection of cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, cereal, breads and jams. If you are planning to stay here because of the great location, be sure to get a room away from the noise and smoke.

Room tip: Anywhere but the front side of the hotel.

we stayed for 3 nights in Mimosa and are very pleased to endorse all the positive comments given by previous reviewers which led to us booking the hotel. Booking directly with the hotel went smoothly,a warm welcome on arrival and generally helpful staff.A very nice room. The Breakfasts were just great.Location ideal.Cannot wait to return!

I chose to book this hotel based on its location and after reading great feedback on TripAdvisor. The location couldn't be better, right off one of the main clothes shopping streets, cafes and dessert shops are just a 2 minute walk, as are all other restaurants and bars. Upon arriving, the lady at reception was super helpful in making sure we parked our car in a place to avoid getting fined, the rules of which are difficult to understand when you arrive in Lucca. She helped us with our bags and showed us to our room. We stayed in the room 'Glicine' and the bathroom is absolutely massive, newly refurbished and spotlessly clean. Slept like a log. The blackout curtains are really effective and the beds comfortable (extra pillows and blankets supplied). Breakfast was super yummy, with a huge selection of cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, cereal, breads, jams and even fresh honey straight out of the comb. There's also an orange juicer and self service egg boiler. Wonderful place, highly recommended. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Room tip: 'Glicine' is a great room! <3

This beautiful, historic hotel is located in a quiet section of Lucca but very close to restaurants and bars. Our room was gorgeous with a beautiful fresco depicting a calm pastorale scene.
There was a heat wave when we visited Lucca so the air-conditioning provided most welcome respite from the uncomfortable conditions.
The staff were most helpful and very friendly. The breakfast is very good and stylishly presented.

I’m afraid to say too many nice things about Lucca and this Hotel because one of the things I like most about Lucca is that it is not yet discovered by the mainstream of tourists to Italy. As a result, it is a charming, antique jewel of a city with endless charm, plenty to explore its history and culture and very unspoiled and pleasant people. The hotel is small, and well located only a few steps from everything you would want to do, including touring the wall of the city. The restaurant serves a very nice buffet breakfast and also a high class gourmet dinner I can easily recommend. People don’t need to bring a car to Lucca because everything there is walking distance including the train station, but if one wants to have a car with them for touring other cities with Lucca as a base, the hotel offers it’s own parking lot on the same small street. Parking cost is reasonable and fair.
