It is such a beautiful place to take a walk and enjoy the beautiful frescoes. This is an open air mausoleum so you can take your time if the weather is nice.

Miracle Square gets a bad rap, but it's mainly from the mobs of foreign tourists taking disrespectful rigged selfies (Italians hate this) as they pretend they're holding the Tower of Pisa up behind them. Ignore them and visit the Field of Miracles for its other significant buildings. The Baptistery (also leaning, but not as severely) is famous for its swinging chandelier that inspired scientists to make discoveries about pendulums and gravity. The Duomo Cathedral next door and Camposanto Cemetery behind have many historical elements and artwork, too. A cantor inside illustrates the bulding's unique echo.

As befits a huge tourist site, the pickpockets are rampant here. It was the only place a member of our tour group had his passport and credit cards stolen by the gangs of roaming thieves.Police aren't much protection amongst all the street vendors hawking umbrellas, scarves, and rain ponchos when the weather's bad.

I was in Pisa for the marathon and was not expecting that much from the tower. The tower itself is prettier than I thought but also the other building with it are stunning. It is a beautiful spot! The cathedral is worth looking in also. Unfortunately I could not go up the tower as you have to be 8 year old and above and I had small children with me. Worth a visit if in the area.

If you can get the sun and blue skies even in January, your spirits will be so uplifted as ours were. Absolutely beautiful..the white marble, green grass and blue skies...and not many tourists!

There are 3 great buildings/attractions on the square: Basilica, Cathedral and famous Leaning tower of Pisa. You just have to see it with your own eyes...I was lucky to come there on Christmas so it was not crowdy and there was free entrance at the Cathedral while mass was ongoing. The ticket to go up the Tower was 18 Euros but there is a inconvenience to leave all your stuff at the locker in nearby building before going to Tower and wait for the line (not very attractive if you don't have much time). The Tower is leaned and still standing....:-)...The whole square is very worth seeing. We visited this place alone and were stunned, but I recommend to visit it with the guide, who will probably have a lot of interesting information to say about the place.
