We decided to come to this Winery, becaue we had a bottle of Fiamma at our restaurnat last night. Upon arriving,we parked our car and looked out onto a beautiful scenic view. We walked up to the vine covered wine shop. Umberto met us in the shop and he explained his winery to us. We learned a little bit of history of his place and saw pictures of him as a young man with young children. Very nice guy. We tried approx. 6 wines, a Vin Santo, a vino spumante, some olive oil...it was really very nice for a no notice drop-in. Ended up buying a box of wine, some olive oil, a bottle of wine. He explained saffron to us and brought us outside to show us some plants.
All in all, it was one of our most treasured wine stops.

We went there following the recommendation of another local restaurant.
The location is wonderful and so are the wines.
We also received a short tour of the "Cantina" (production facility) & old cellar.
The location is wonderful!
Totally recommended!

As a part of a ship's tour to San Gimignano, we had lunch at Fattoria San Donato. They called it a "light Tuscan" lunch. It started with a farro salad, olives and peppers, antipasti vegetables and bread, with and without olive oil. The next course was cheeses, ricotta, blue and peccarino. The next course was salami and prosciutto. The last course was biscotti like biscuits to dip in the sweet wine. All of this was accompanied by red and white wine.

The farm is fully organic and they make their own wine and olive oil

We visited with a group, and were treated to a lunch sampling of local food and wine they produce themselves. It is a complex of buildings which was once a small village which had fallen into ruin. The current owner's grandfather started the restoration process, and now it is a working far, winery, and bed & breakfast. We bought both a red and white wine which are excellent. We also checked out several of the bedrooms with the idea that one day we should love to come and stay for several days. It would be a great spot from which to explore Tuscany!

I have been here twice. Both times as an escort for a group of students. The owners have given us a tour both times and shown us around this working farm. As an agriturismo they have done well sharing their life with those who visit. They have laid out a fantastic spread both times with lots of food and choice for the students to try a little bit of everything Tuscan and Italian. The hosts are excellent and very informative and this place is worth the stop on any tour out near San Gimignano.
