We were looking for a place to stay in Perugia for one night and it was a dream of mine to sleep in an authentic hotel. Choosing Sacro Cuore was the best thing we could do! The hotel has old charm, but the rooms are renovated and comfortable. Our room was a bit small but had a great view and the biggest shower cabin we had seen for 1 week and 5 hotels in Italy. The staff was very friendly! Interesting fact: Pope John Paul II slept in the room next to ours when he was visiting Umbria. Astonishing views, very big, well-maintained garden/park around the hotel with swings, trees and fresh air.
In the morning, we had a table reserved for our room and could choose from a normal variety of breakfast choices (Italian bread, cheese, ham, cornflakes, cake, croissants, gluten free stuff, tea, coffee, mineral water, butter, jam, nutella)
Big parking space.
If you want to visit the city, I would recommend to go by car and leave it at a parking lot near the centre. There might be a nice path to get there on foot, but we didn't have enough time to ask and do that.
Poor WiFi.
Low price - very good quality!

Room Tip: Room 33 had an amazing view

This is one of the few hotels we have found that allow you to book your two kids into the same room as their parents. They encourage families by including bunk beds in the room in addition to the queen bed we were in. The room was large with plenty of floor space for our luggage. The bathroom was recently redone with new fixtures and shower insert. The kids enjoyed the swings on the property. Parking was free and easy and the hotel is located a short drive from the city center. The Italians aren't that into breakfast and this place is no different. Adding some more variety of fresh fruit to the selection would help. The views from the property are great. I would love to see them make better use of their patio.

Make sure you locate the hotel on google maps before you go. The address in google is approximate at best. The hotel will be hard to find if your first time there is in the dark.
