The Sangallo Palace Hotel is a beautiful property at the foot of Perugia. Not to fear - its easy to reach the heart of the city from Sangallo by a short walk to a series of four escalators that whisk you to the city center. The rooms are lovely - mine had a little deck overlooking the valley, complete with a table and chairs. Bathroom was spacious and had a combo of shower and tub. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and tasty. I did dine in one evening and both the service and food were excellent.

Perhaps it is because Perugia is a smaller town, but the luxury of this hotel is far greater than the price would indicate. A private balcony was a wonderful surprise. Customer service is excellent. Parking is a little tricky but they do a pretty good job of explaining it. You park in the municipal lot which is a half block away, and they validate your ticket for a reduction from 17E to 11E. Cars are close to useless in central Perugia, so just park it unless you are leaving the city. Large bathroom, something unusual in budget Euro hotels, a good bad, large room, excellent large breakfast. All in all, it is a 10 out of 10.

Hotel is centrally located, very close to escalators up to old town. A well run hotel. Spacious rooms with nice view, large comfortable bed, friendly hotel staff. Enjoyed swimming pool. Good choice at Breakfast.

The room with a balcony has a gorgeous view and the team in Sangallo Palace is professional, available and dedicated which makes their clients happy. The escalators, 5' walk from the hotel, allow us to discover the impressive underground structure, an excellent way to go to the old city! Excellent location.

This is a very well run hotel, and we feel at home here. Everywhere is immaculate. Great base for our 3 night stay in a 5th floor room with balcony, with valley and sunset views. The room and bathroom were a good size and well equipped with all you might need and English TV channels were welcome at the end of our holiday wandering Tuscany and Umbria by public transport. And a good choice at Breakfast. Short walk to covered escalators up to Piazza Italia, 5 minutes. The Bus Station is close by for Assisi and Gubbio day trips. rome2rio is a good site for travel options. The Tourist Information Office in Piazza Matteotti v helpful, with guide books, better maps and travel info. A C A P Airport bus takes half an hour, pay on board. We can,t thank Sandro enough, for reuniting us with the contents of our rucksack we had left at a nearby bus stop! Many thanks for our lovely stay.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have better views
