A great place to wait for at the arrivals! The atmosphere is warm and cosy (quite rare in an airport...) Food is very quickly served and the service is precise. A very good value for money according to swiss standards. I strongly recommend the place.

It is quite common to expect airport food to be on the expensive side and sometimes limited in choice. However in general, geneva airport takes the cake. Geneva airport already exudes an image of nauseous luxury. Montreux jazz café perfectly reflects this image. A lot of travellers go through geneva airport and the food spots seem to cater to a very specific high end clientele which is frankly insulting for most travellers. Once you pass the security check and wait for your flight it would be pleasant to sit down for a bite at a reasonable price. The food at montreux jazz café is ridiculously overpriced (14 chf for a panini). No sandwich is priced at less than 10 chf (we even saw one at 26 chf!). They display mini champagne bottles and advertise it by saying "save water, bring champagne on board your flight'', the bottles are priced at 37 chf. Although there is something condescending about the message sent to the clientele through such items and advertising, the problem is not so much that there is a choice to consume more expensive items, but the lack of reasonably priced ones (Isn't it possible to do a simple, normally priced sandwich?). The lack of vegetarian/vegan options is also a general problem. There is this uncomfortable sensation of being robbed when you know that the only sources of food and water are highly overpriced foodspots. As for the food choices nothing justifies the prices and the image they are trying to project. Aside from sandwiches, quiches, chips and the burger there is no dishes that could warrant such a fuss. They could take a lesson from airports such as heathrow where you have higher end spots co-existing with cheaper ones.
Travelling is no longer a first class only experience and the airports should reflect this new reality.

For now, buy a sandwich or eat before entering the airport.

Incredibly slow rude staff and overpriced food. £21/€26 for a cheeseburger & beer that was worse than a mcDonalds.

to finish this off there was then a problem over paying as the staff were unable to make there terminals work to take a payment in euros from my preload card despite being advised i could pay in euros before ordering.

somewhere to avoid at all costs.

Geneva airport is, quite frankly the worst airport I have ever been to.

After queuing to check in and security for over 2 hours I was looking forward to sitting down and having something to eat with my family before our flight.

We chose this place as it appeared to be the best of a bad bunch. We were squished in and the service was slow we queued up for snacks and drinks whilst half our group somehow received table service. It was £3 for a cookie, a bottle of water was over £4!

This place is over priced and not that nice. The sad thing is that there is nowhere else to get a better value meal in the departure area. Avoid buy eating before you arrive at the airport.

Convenient and not a lot more - waiters can be surly. Still, we meet there often and live with the downside.
