I guess we have been here a couple of times. The menu takes 20 minutes to pick out what you want. There are so many things. Everything we have tried very good. Greek, American, German, sailor ha ha. Everything is good. Serice and atmosphere too. Never stayed in hotel ...

This little hotel was a wonderful find for a stay in Schaffhausen .The location is fabulous and the bar and dining on site is great also . I found the room charming with a great view of the Munot . The bathroom was really really small so inconvenient if you are there very long. But the bed was comfortable and the room clean.
The staff and check in was wonderful and friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room looking over the square for a good view.

This hotel is located right off the pedestrian zone and a GPS is definitely needed to locate. Public pay parking is right outside the hotel. We found a spot right away but if you are not as lucky simply wait a few minutes and a spot will open up. The turnover appeared to be frequent.
The hotel is definitely a 3-star with adequate but not great front desk staff. We were on the 4th floor and thankfully there was an elevator. The room and bath were small, but clean and the bed comfortable.
We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was very good and here the service was awesome if not outstanding. Our server had a delightful personality and very committed to service.
The breakfast buffet was adequate but the coffee was awful. No brewed coffee, only self-service from a machine.
I would recommend this hotel for the location.

During July, my wife and I took a bicycle tour of Lake Constance and as a part of the package stayed at the Kronenhof. Terrific, elegant, an able staff, and a true winner. It's right smack in the middle of the historic city. We loved our rooms which were modern and well-appointed, especially for a 3-star hotel. Our meals were included in our package and I cannot say enough of the menu and wait staff. Fine dining indeed. Be prepared: The Kronenhof, like many hotels doesn't have air-conditioning. But then again, the region's cool summer doesn't necessarily require it.

Room Tip: Ask for front view. Terrific double or triple glazed windows blocked out street sounds when it was time for bed.
