Exceptionally comfortable beds in a very spacious and quiet room. Sheltered balcony had a view across the valley to mountains. Spotlessly clean. No air con but a very quiet air circulating fan provided. Modern hotel with a very good restaurant and very friendly staff.

Great location - next to station - ideal for excursions by train and post bus to Brienz, Aare Gorge and Interlaken. Even Lucern is less than 2 hours away.

Room Tip: Room 201 is the biggest room and has a balcony.

Very welcoming hotel with friendly staff and tremendous atmosphere in restaurant with superb food. Centrally located in village with immediate access to railway (opposite) or cable car or local walking routes.

We had a great stay in the Hotel Meiringen. The staff was very friendly, rooms were spacious, the restaurant served a hearty breakfast for a very reasonable price. The best part of the stay was the proximity to everything you could want for summer hiking; lifts, restaurants, trails, and shops.

Modern and smart middle range hotel, centrally located, with typically Swiss prices. No parking on site but ample spaces on the road, or in the underground car park by the station, about 5 minutes wall away - you can buy the parking ticket from reception.

Room very basic, ours with an inexplicable bunk bed too.

No air con, kettle or fridge in the room; noticeable by their absence during hot weather.

Breakfast is extra and unremarkable.

Room Tip: Ask for away from the main road

My cousin and her friends have stayed at the Meiringen Hotel many times. I was joining her for a holiday from New Zealand so would not have doubted her word. But I was told the location is superb, close to the train and bus stations. Certainly true, taxis not required even with my big case. Hotel Meiringen is a family run hotel, the rooms are simple and basic, but clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, ready to give advise on where to visit and how to get there. We had half board at the hotel and certainly did not regret that. Switzerland can be expensive so to know your meals are included in the cost is nice. Breakfasts were continental with facilities to boil an egg and were certainly substantial enough. The evening meals were lovely - always a choice of two items for starters and mains. Sometimes the desserts were not to someone's liking due to diet, but there was always the alternative of icecream! Nothing was too much trouble. I know my cousin and her friends will be back there in a flash and if visiting Switzerland again, I would too. I just loved it.

This hotel was super close to the station and the staff were nice. My room was enormous which was a nice surprise with a good sized balcony. Breakfast was simple but filling and the coffee was the best I had on my trip (possibly related to the Italian restaurant at the hotel?). The Reichenbachfalle funicular was closed while I was here but I would highly recommend travelling to the Giessbachfalle which is a lovely waterfall.

I was based here for 4 nights while attending a continuing education course in town.
I arrived around 5:30 PM on the first night and was welcomed professionally.
There is no parking lot but roadside parking is free from 7 PM to 8 AM. Alternatively the hotel can provide you with a card for roadside parking for a surcharge of 20 CHF a week.

The room was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. Water was always hot, bathroom was adequate and clean. My room was facing the main road so was quite loud when windows were open.

There was a large breakfast-buffet with a choice of tasty fresh food.

Room price including breakfast and dinner was 110 CHF during the low season.

The Restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced with a two course lunch menu including water soda and coffee for 25 CHF.

Checkout was uncomplicated.

All in all a simple and comfortable stay.
