Zürich is full of great restaurants, but I have the say that this place is very special.
Reservations are essential for visitors to the city as the locals like to keep this place to themselves.
The setting is intimate when this small bar and maybe 20 tables. The maitre'd is a lively and colorful character who works closely with the kitchen staff to ensure the menu is both rich and seasonal. He is also a wine connoisseur and can ensure that you have the perfect wine accompaniment to your selected menu. The wine list is incredible.
The servers were very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed the sautéed veal with mushrooms and creme fraiche - a Zurich delicacy - with Rosti.
My partner had venison with spetzli pasta. Enjoyed with a great German Riesling to begin, followed by a fine Swiss Red wine from the Italian region.
Can't praise this place enough - for CHF 100 per head it was really outstanding in this classy city.
