This is owned by the people who own the excellent Kindli Hotel across the road.

It is smart with white table cloths and provides and excellent brasserie service. The food is tasty and well presented and they serve many old favorites. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive.

We were with a close Zuricher friend who clearly knows the good restaurants.

We started with goat cheese salad and poached egg with salad followed by two pastas and a Vienna Schnitzel. For dessert we had profiteroles as they had run out of the lovely looking mille feuilles.

It was a pleasure to visit.

Love the updated menu, especially the pulpo appetiser is simply one of the best dishes available in Zurich (if you like pulpo of course...). The Entrecôte Café de Paris with the Pommes Allumettes are a classic, and if you are lucky on Fridays and Saturdays, you can even get a superb Millefeuille! Big compliment to the entire team around Alessandro and Sara - it probably can't get any better!

We ate outside. Widdergasse is a lovely cobbled area. The Lumiere is in a good location. The french menu and wine list are 'One of the best'. This was a treat. It was not disappointing at all. The food is 'Art on a Plate'. It tasted nearly as good as it looked.(And it tasted wonderful every mouthful). We opted for an Argentinian Paslo Doble Malbec Red. It was worth every franc!! No it was GOOD....All 5 of us had a lovely evening at Lumiere. The staff, the table decor, the wine glasses, the, the, the, AWESOME MATE....

Thank Stephen M
