This restaurant has new management, so now it is cleaner, brighter and friendlier then our last visit.
Situated near the department store Globus, it is a typical Swiss restaurant.
We all had cheese fondue and salads, the food was plentiful and good.
They have an extensive menu and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere.

Thank Lorraine W

The place is very nice and cozy. I went with a friend and we shared a cheese fondue with garlic, half a liter of white wine, and a 'Kirsch' (spirit) each. The fondue was rather bad, I did have substantially better fondues at other places. It was a bit too 'liquid', even separating between cheese and liquid. The bread did not seem to be fresh. Service was very attentive and friendly.

The prices are ridiculous... even for Zurich. Maybe because the place is so centrally located, close to the main station, and thus very attractive for tourists? The first indication of a fondue place being intent on extracting the maximum value from its clients is that fondues are only offered 'all inclusive, a discrétion', thus including everything from potatoes, cornichons, onions etc if you like it or not. This is used to justify the comparatively high fondue price. In addition drinks are also extortionately priced. We ordered half a liter 'dry white wine', expecting half a liter of whatever open house wine they had. They brought a 0.5L bottle of a Swiss white which was fine. The bottle was however priced per 100mL! It thus cost 3CHF less than the usual .75L bottle, and half a liter of the cheapest white wine for 45CHF is ridiculous. The (small) shots of Kirsch of which you often have several during a fondue are priced at 8CHF each! Total bill of 140CHF for two for a below average fondue...

I suggest to leave your money somewhere else.

Very cost warm and inviting restaurant close to the station and Bahnhofstrasse. Serves good quality regional food. Service is kind and fast. It is not cheap but worthwhile.

My first Swiss fondue. It was tasty however overpriced as you have to order per head. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the restaurants is a traditional Swiss style with music and cowbells. It's one of those touristy things you have to do once because you're there but not to be repeated. Service was professional and friendly.

A menu that is almost overwhelming, so many things that whets one's appetite. Swiss classics of course, but also with interesting additions. A nice wine list, with a discount on the excellent Aalto to boot. Pleasant place, good service. Recommended.
