The moment we turned off the Swansea to Mumbles road it was like stepping back in time. Empty roads, pretty white cottages, tiny churches, leafy valleys smelling of garlic and stunning empty beaches.
The cottage was easy to find on the edge of a working sheep farm with room to park the car right in front of the door. There is a bus stop right alongside.
Owners Kaye and John were friendly, available and helpful. Kaye even did some shopping for us. She persistently and effectively badgered BT to sort out unfortunate wifi issues which was a fault affecting the whole local area.
The main bedroom is rather tiny but attractively decorated with an extremely fresh and comfortable bed. There is another twin bedded room up an open metal staircase (not suitable for our little dog or presumably for young children)!
Sumptuous leather three piece suite on a patterned 'easy to live with' rug covering a wooden floor. The shower worked well and the open kitchen had everything we needed for simple meals. We didn't need to check out the laundry room.
Shopping was no trouble. Best apples I've eaten for years in the tardis like supermarket in nearby Scurlage. It is open from 8 til late every day. There is a chemist across the road there too.
The narrow roads are not suitable to walk along safely but there are plenty of footpaths and the Coastal Path is only a couple of fields away.
We hope to return soon for a longer stay.
