We meandered through the canals of Sneek until we arrived at the Waterpoort and found a docking spot right next to gorgeous 15th Century buildings.
We went for a walk over the wooden bridges and did some shopping and had coffee at a little outdoor cafe. Having drinks before dinner, we were passed by what must have been 80% of the town taking part in a 5KM walk. We had dinner at Der Walrus, where the motto was Eaten, Drinken and Enzo. The waitress was stumped when we asked what Enzo was r and after a consultation with her colleagues, we decided that Enzo was partying.
At 11PM there was still a twilight. The lights on the Waterpoort created magic on the water. The June nights were chilly but the days were sunny and warm. You have to be prepared for inclement weather, but Sneek was very generous and had only sunshine for us.
