The hotel is situated some 10 minutes from downtown centre. The hotel has a shuttle service. Did not try it.
We stayed in a executive room on the seventh floor. This meant that we could park in a designated area and had a very nice view. Not sure if the room was different compared to a standard room.
We received a king sized bed with only one duvet. I stayed with my son who is nine years old so it worked out but I would prefer two seperate duvets. The bed was nice and comfortable. There was no minibar but a small and old refrigerator in the room, which was unplugged by arrival. It worked ok after a while though. There was a complimentary waterbottle in the room. A bar at the reception area sells beer and some limited selection of wines. Not any red wine when I asked.
The bathroom was nice and looked quite new and had a bath tub. The normal bathroom amenties in place. Free use off bathrobes and slippers. No ironer/ironboard in room.
The outside temperature was over 30C on our arrival so the room was very hot! We where not able to get the temperature down as much as we wished for. If opening the window, the AC stopped so it was not easy to figure out how the decrease the temperature. The information booklet stated that the AC system could lower the room temprature by 3 degrees, not to much help if it was 30 degrees on arrival. It was nice to have a cold shower in the morning to cool down.
The hotel was packed with guests, like us, attending the F1 Belgian Grand Prix, at Spa, which meant a quite crowded check in area as a bus arrived at the same time. The front desk was a bit stressed and I asked some simple questions about the local area but they remained unanswered as the employee just rushed away. Even at check out 7.15 sunday morning I didnt felt that staff was as attentive, as they could have been.
We did not try the restaurant or the breakfast. The free wifi worked fine
Be aware that you have to pay an additional €13 city tax to your bill on departure.
This was a leisure trip. In average I spend 50 to 60 nights at some 35-40 hotels each year, many of them five stars, so thats my basis of comparison.
