I very much enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Regency this past weekend. The room, bathroom and shower were super comfortable.
The lounge is also very pleasant. I didn't eat at the Indonesian restaurant but I did have breakfast in the main restaurant and it I must admit was just OK...very little in terms of fruits (yes, I know, it's January) or yoghurt.
The room service menu was a little limited- nothing between a salad and a burger (a turkey wrap or hummus plate could do it).

Very nice hotel, good location. You are on Dam Square in 15 minutes by tram or you can walk. Rooms are everything you expect at a Hyatt hotel:Nice touches: the gym and the spa, lovely amenities and the Indonesian restaurant. If you like to go for a run, the Amstel is nearby.

Let me preface this by saying this is a new hotel that just opened last year, and while they have more “growing pains” to go through, the rating is based on my experience now.

The hotel: HR Amsterdam is absolutely stunning. You walk in and feel like you have been transported to a high end, boutique looking, green playground or forest! Has this fresh feeling for sure and is very unlike any other Hyatt Regency I ever stayed at. Well done design team.

Loyalty: Being a Discoverist WOH member does not get you much at this hotel, water as far as I was told. No other inclusions that you would normally get where offered at check-in.

Check-in: Nothing exceptional and unmemorable. No what brings you to Amsterdam. No hello. No connection. Just super cold by the three agents that where there when I checked-in. Very off put by that, especially having been at many Hyatt properties, it really did not feel the same to me.

Room: very spacious, coffee machine with large mugs, very comfortable chair in room, awesome water pressure in bath, very little street noise. The beds however were VERY uncomfortable. Super hard and for me, it made sleeping uncomfortable. If you need a softer mattress, you may not want to stay here.

Location: a pain. Far from everything. Good 30 minute walk to all the major tourist sites. The tram is a 5 minute walk away which we did not utilize. For us, ended up taking Uber to most places which was about 6 to 8 Euro every time. In comparison, one tram ride is 3 euro or nearly 8 for a day pass. In my opinion, not the best location at all for leisure guests. Nothing around the hotel and this is definitely a property that is more business traveler focused.

All in all, it was ok. A friendlier arrival experience would have made all the difference to me. The pretty hotel does not make up for the lack of personality or connection from anyone I encountered at the hotel. Cannot say I would return.

While I am very glad to hear that you enjoyed the design of the hotel, I am so sorry to hear of your disappointment within certain areas.

Honest feedback is always appreciated at Hyatt Regency Amsterdam, and I am very sorry to learn, that we left such a negative impression regarding our check-in service on you. The management teams have been informed and the necessary action have been taken.

I personally, as well as the team, understand the immense value of each guest and certainly a loyal guest such as you. Let me assure you that we certainly will not fail to recognize your requirements during your next visit and beyond.

We understand how important a good night's sleep is for our guests and I regret to hear that you found the bed uncomfortable. To accommodate the needs of our guests, I can inform you that we will have softer mattress toppers soon.

On your next visit, be sure to rent a bike or get a public transport ticket with the front office hosts. The restaurant area is located within only three tram-stops from the hotel!

Granted I came here when it was brand new...but jeez, this is a gorgeous hotel and the staff are so so friendly and relaxed :D I got the room for a fantastic price and I couldn't fault it. You know you're in a nice room when you open the wardrobe door and a light automatically pops on inside it :D

I have no words to say during my stay in Hyatt Regency Amsterdam. The amenities are excellent. The location is very convenient. The room is very comfortable, very clean, and very homey. The staff was courteous and friendly and professional. The only problem I had was the slow delivery of my luggage to my room and a request for an adapter. Other than this, a very excellent hotel! 4.9 out of 5!
