Our visit to the Anne Frank House will not soon be forgotten. We purchased our tickets ahead of time and they are somewhat difficult to obtain but not impossible. There was quite a lot of construction happening during our visit on the outside of the house which distracted a little from the visit but, of course, is necessary to maintain this most important historical site.
Actually being allowed to walk throughout the house where the Franks and the others were hiding was humbling to say the least. The actual building is well-maintained and for those who are not familiar with this story of Anne Frank, a brief film is offered at the beginning of the House tour. I can only saw that standing in the very rooms where Anne Frank, her family, and the others were hiding brought tears to my eyes. It is must-see for anyone who is visiting Amsterdam and I am so very glad that I was able to visit it.
