Hotel Estherea is ideally located, right in the center of Amsterdam, close to the central station. Not too far of the big must-sees of the city.
The hotel itself has quite a big reception room. Staff is friendly and helpful. No keycard, but a good old key to open my room. Upside: no technical glitches, downside: you have to drop of your key everytime you leave the hotel.
The room was a bit dated to my feel, not modern at all. Cosy, rather big. It has everything you need: tv, refrigerator (although i only found this in a closet at the morning of my departure...), big comfy bed. The bathroom was rather small. Only a bathtub, no shower. But it did the job.
Breakfast was nice, a broad selection of food. But expensive, as everything in the hotel. WIFI is paying, carpark cost about € 50 for one night!
All in all, it's a bit of a mixed bag. It's expensive for what you get. I have no idea if this is the case for all hotels in Amsterdam. But it's clean, nice, and has a good breakfast.More
