“Disrespectful to its Chain Name”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

Leisure trip, lots of positive reviews for various hotels of the Radisson Chain. I was actually looking forward to visiting this centrally located hotel.

Although its lobby is fascinating, i cannot state the same for the rooms. Ours was on the top floor, interesting view, spacious but the windows didn't close firmly, so cold and noise were our other two roommates. In my opinion, the hotel needs a renovation.

The buffet breakfast was quite good.

In a nutshell, old, a bit dingy, spacious room, breakfast quite good and centrally located.

Radisson Blu
This hotel offer great service at a reasonable price.  Check in and out was quick and efficient.  Linda, the front desk clerk handled check-in and check-out quickly and efficiently.  Although I arrived three hours before the official check-in time of 3PM,
She gave me the room with no hesitation.  She did the same at check-out, extending my ckeck-out time by 3 hours.  I'm sure that the current occupation at those times made it possible, and there was no hesitation on her part and it was much appreciated as was the upgrade.
My room was modern and beautiful.  The Free expresso, tea and hot chocolate machine was a great bonus.
The entire front desk staff was very helpful at all times.   I thought the very extensive buffet breakfast was too expensive for the normally small meal I take.   The close proximity to the Nieumarket area(5 minutes),  with it's great number and variety of restaurants, Solved the problem of where to have breakfast and other meals.
Didn't get a chance to use the gym a but I was pleased that it was available .
The close proximity to the Red Light district and Dam square made it easy to visit many
Popular Attractions.
I would not stay anywhere else when I visit Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Room 228 is an upgrade and was very nice.

Stayed for business and then the weekend for sightseeing. Close to many restaurants and excellent staff available to help you out. Lunch and breakfast were very good the times I ate there. Charming area close enough to the train station though some streets would be tough to mange with rolling luggage.

There are actually 2 towers across the street from each other which are connected underground. It can be a pain to get back and forth to the lobby if you end up on the other side.

Recently returned from a three night stay at the Radisson. Overall was more than pleased with the hotel.
Plus points; good location close to Dam Square and Centraal Railway Station but in a quiet street. Excellent breakfast. Comforatable room. Handy fitness room.Staff pleasant and helpful.
Minus points; Food and drink at the hotel expensive so dined elsewhere.
Would certainly look to stay at other Radisson Hotels in the future.

The bar in hotel is really nice and food is great! The room was clean and comfortable.
This is not the first Radisson Hotel we are staying in and for sure not the last one!

This hotel is quiet, calm and stylish. We were delighted with our deluxe room which had a truly enormous bed!

Hotel staff were friendly and efficient and seemed genuinely interested in our well-being.

We're regular visitors to Amsterdam because I have family in the city, but this was our first time at this particular hotel.

Recommended.

The hotel is nice and clean with a very nice staff. The room was nice, it was a superior one.it was nice and comfortable with a nespresso machine available.....it's soooooo cool to have a coffee when you are just awake!!! The bathroom is not the kind of bathroom you aspected to find in an hotel of such category: it was small and a little bit of old-looking. Anyway.....the floor was heated!!!!! :)
The breakfast is too much expensive if not included with the room price. We had it inclused and was nice! The staff at the de palmboom, the restaurant of the hotel in which the breakfast is served, is kind and gives you all the attention. The breakfast is a buffet style breakfast and offers every kind of food. Muffin, yogurt, croissant, little bread but also sausages, potatoes, scrambled eggs and a lot of juices and many other things.
I enjoyed it :)
