This is worse hotel i ever stay in my life! We arrived late around 9 pm. Been tired and when we went upstairs 100 steps up, than saw this "room". This is humiliating! How you can sell this rooms ? Terrible!. I was not happy to stay some times in Motels ( in USA), but Motels like Castle compare to this. I wanted to cancel rooms ( 2 nights) but booking.com was not allowed return my money. 110 evro per night!!! terrible rooms. that not what you see on the picture. Do not make mistakes.

Room tip: Do not stay in this hotel

I had read previous views on Hotel Di-Ann and had little worries about staying there. But you must always not belive everthing you read. Yes the stairs are long and steep but when you arrive ring the door bell and there will be someone to come down and help. Once your case are in your room that's it just yourself you need to carry up and down for the rest of your stay. You must remember you pay for way you get. So if you want the cooked English and shine taps book the Ritz. If you want somewhere just to sleep and shower this is the place. Breakfast contains 2 different types of cereal, boiled eggs, 3 types of bread, cheese slices, ham slices different spreads for toast or a sandwich, apples, tea, coffee, water and orange juice. Beds r so comfy, shower had a good force on it and plenty of hot water. Clean towels everyday. Staff polite and friendly. 10 minute walk maxium from Dam Square. Lovely balcony to have breakfast or sit there people watching or just taking in the night air before bed. I will be staying there again. I did take some flash wipes with me due to other read ups yes I used them the once but I do that where ever I stay. Always remember you get what you pay for.

The hotel was clean, but the staff did not change the sheets. We know because we spray perfume on the mattress and peel the pillow out first. But the atmosphere around the hotel is beautiful, sound from the car all night.

I've stayed at the hotel for two nights and as for such a stay it was perfect placed in the center within a walking distance to Ann Frank's house or Amsterdam Centraal.
The low price was an additional plus of the property as well as the building itself, which is very nice to an eye.
For some, lack of the lift might be an issue, as the staircase is very high with a lot of steps, but that is typical in Amsterdam's old buildings. For me it was an additional charm.
I've stayed in a room on the last floor (more steps = better workout ;)). It was small, but comfortable with a great city view and balcony to enjoy the city from. Small, but well designed bathroom was just enough for my needs. There was a safe in my room, so I could store my valuable items as well.

Breakfast was very nice, could be enjoyed on a terrace with a city view :)

Overall, I am very pleased with my stay at DiAnn.

Room tip: Last floor rooms have balconies.

I feel very thankful to get a room at Hotel Di-Ann for my stay in Amsterdam when I was there alone as a tourist. I had booked the room less than a week before my arrival at Amsterdam.

The staff of the Hotel are the people who help make my experience meaningful and positive despite the hotel having no lift and room furnishing is basic.

Hotel Di-Ann stood out because it met my requirements:
1) It was close to the heart of Amsterdam. It is about two tram stations from Amsterdam Centraal station. I could talk a 15-20 minutes stroll and reach Amsterdam Centraal station by foot.
2) It was relatively near many places of interest.
3) Free WIFI! I felt thankful that the WIFI is consistently working even in the room area.
4) Compared to other hotels in Amsterdam at the locations I was looking at, it was considered reasonable.

The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. This helps a lot. I am also thankful that the staff of the hotel would extend their service to help me book an airport shuttle to the airport on the date of my check-out. My request to have my luggage stored temporarily in the storage room was also very well attended to.

The room is very basic so please keep expectations manageable. I had a room for one person and it was a compact room with all the basic amenities fitted in.

The hotel does not have any lift. I understand this appear to be a common issue even for the nearby hotels in Amsterdam. I felt thankful that one of the hotel staff went the extra mile to help me take my luggage up the stairs upon my request for help. However, people who have issues going up or down the stairs may wish to consider other options as the stairs were relatively steep.

Breakfast was basic. If food runs out, ask for some refill.

I like the architecture of the building that the hotel is located in, and the best part of breakfast was to take a seat at the table at the balcony area and look at the view of the neighbourhood from the balcony. The only thing to watch out for is that other guests may smoke while they are at the balcony.

There is no safe in the room. Guests may enquire at the reception if they need a safe to store valuables.

A good location. So if the price works out, I am willing to consider. Afterall, I have had relatively good experience with the staff at the hotel who have been very kind to attend to my requests.

The neighbourhood is relatively safe. There was one night when I returned to the hotel around 2 a.m. Except for the fact that the traffic lights do not work at that hour, I felt relatively safe to walk back to the hotel from the nearby Dam area late at night.
