“nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2012

this is a nice hotel , the room was clean and had everything you needed in it. i must admit it was pretty cramped and it did take a bit of skill to get dressed in the morning and the walk way down the side of the bed was very narrow. it did also mean the bed felt quite cramped as one side was against the wall i found myself headbutting the wall all night. but the way i look at it is at least it was clean and it is just to sleep in. the stairs to get to the rooms were challenging very narrow and steep especially with a big traveling backpack on ! it was about a 10 minute walk to the the centre of amsterdam but it was a nice walk. lots of resturants and bars within the area. the hotel was located on a very quiet leafy street which was nice.. in general this was a very nice hotel. the staff seemed friendly (didnt really have much dealing with them) . breakfast was nice general buffet toasts cerals cheese etc the room once again was quite cramped. all in all a nice basic hotel

It is a great place to have a nice staying in Amsterdam for a holiday or just a business trip.
A combination of its delicious meals, high-level accomodations, cultural and adventure activities, friendly atmosphere and a sweet treat makes your trip to be unforgetable and cosy in every way. From its clean air to its dazzling local meal service your staying revels the fine classical traditions of Dutch culture and the right way of living.
Having a good location in the centre (not far from the Museumplein station) you can visit in a two minutes walk the Museum of Van Gogh, The Gebouw or the Koninlijke Museum or just go windown-shopping in one on the citys most exclusive diamond shop like The Coster diamonds.

During christmas which is last month December 2011, I stayed in this hotel just for 2 nights and it was really comfortable in all aspects, the staff, the food, the service, the cleanliness and so on.

Though it's just been refurbished but they made it to complete at the right time.

Newly refurbished rooms make your stay as good it should be in Amsterdam, staff also really helpfull and willing to support you in any matter. Location is the best in town !!

Only thing to add on is the small space for the breakfast, they should either make it in a bigger room or extend the breakfast time in order everyone fit their short time (up to 10 am), what is early for Ams atmosphere : ) !

There does appear to be a reasonable amount of criticism made against this hotel, and whilst it is very basic, it still should be considered if on a budget.
Yes, the rooms are small and the bathrooms a little cramped, however to its credit, they are clean and reasonably comfortable,
Quite simply, if you want a hotel with a little luxury, you will need to look elsewhere and be prepared to pay more, however if you are looking for a well located, no - frills hotel of good value, then this certainly deserves consideration.

While small, rooms are quite functional and comfortable. I was there for two nights in January and found it a good value, close to the tramline, museums and restaurants. Quiet tree lined street with beautiful period architecture. Not for people with mobility problems or expectations of 5 star ammenities, recommended for the adverturous at heart.

Room Tip: You want a room overlooking the front street.

Clean comfortable rooms in central Amsterdam. Good hotel for the young traveller that needs a bed, bathroom and breakfast. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean. If you want to party all night and only need a place to crash for the night then Acro is great. There is no lift and stairs are steep, old and unfit avoid.
