This is a brilliant museum, well laid out and very detailed. We bought our tickets at a Tours and Tickets office (10 Euros vs 11 Euros if we had bought them at the door). People reckoned about one and a half hours for the visit - this would have been nowhere near enough time. We spent two and a half hours following the trail, using the great audio guide and taking part in the interactions. Would recommend this museum very highly.

Great museum. We spent about 2 hours here which really wasn’t long enough. Really makes you think - as the introductory film says - would you adapt, collaborate or resist? Do leave yourselves plenty of time.

You could easily walk right by this unassuming yet lovely building if you weren't looking specifically for it. The content of the exhibition is pretty interesting and they have endeavoured to present it in a way that allows you to experience the options or limited choices available to the Dutch of that time. I was unsure of the layout and structure chosen as a lot of the material was very low down, (possibly to make it easier for wheelchair users?), and very low lit, (maybe to give the atmosphere of the time?). Whatever the intent, I did come out with sore eyes and back at the end and I'm only 5'1" - I'd hate to be a local! It was nice to see a little history of overseas issues that were experienced around the same time and see the connections. Lovely staff on hand to look after you.

Gives a whole new perspective to the occupation as felt by the local Dutch citizens. Take your time. Very interesting.
