“Delightful stay”

We (husband, teenage daughter and I) just returned from a week in Amsterdam and a wonderful stay in this apartment. We couldn't agree more with the other "5 star" reviews! As others have noted, the apartment location is terrific, a quiet, residential block on the Prinsengracht canal, yet within easy walking, biking, or tram ride away from the center of the city and sights. The nearest tram (#4) stops just at the end of the block. Both a grocery and pharmacy are also very close by, as well as a number of restaurants and shops. The Magere Brug ("Skinny Bridge") and Carre Theater are both just a stone's throw away.

The apartment itself lives up it its pictures and reviews -- clean, light, airy, comfortable, stylish/modern throughout. One of our favorite things was to sit in the living area near the three large front windows; enjoying the beautiful view and watching Amsterdam life -- people walking, biking, and boats passing by on the canal. The apartment is well appointed -- plenty of dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots/pans, towels, linens, etc. We ate breakfast in the apartment and cooked one dinner, but also enjoyed exploring the neighborhood restaurants -- Na Siam (Thai) and Café Moustache (Italian) were two of our favorites. All the appliances and the apartment Wi-Fi were in excellent working order. It was a little cold during our visit to spend much time on the back terrace, but it is a pleasant space and would be a great place to relax once the weather warms up a bit. We've stayed in apartments in other cities and this is certainly one of our favorites.

We booked the reservation on line through TripAdvisor. We had never done that before, but I found the process easy and secure - thank you. Merian (the owner) was helpful and responsive to all questions prior to our arrival and during our stay. We were met on arrival at the apartment by one of her friends who provided the keys and shared information about the apartment and the neighborhood.

We hope to return to Amsterdam and would stay here again in a heartbeat! We recommend it highly -- you won't be disappointed.

“Clean, comfortable and stylish”
Reviewed February 14, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Lovely apartment with big windows overlooking Prinzengracht. Feels clean and cared for. Warm and cosy. The tram no.4 stops 150m away and the no 7 and 10 perhaps 250m. There is a good local supermarket and some excellent restaurants. Towels and linen provided. A little terrace at the back provides for smokers.

Sorry we could stay only a week.

“Superb apartment, highly recommend”

We stayed in this lovely apartment for a week at the end of August, and wish we had been able to have another week there. Our whole experience from contact with the owner Merian, through to checkout was smooth and pleasant. Merian was prompt with replies to our queries and incredibly accommodating.

The apartment is situated in a quiet area right on the canal, and it is delightful to return there, to relax and watch the boats go past. Access to all areas in the central area are easily accessed, by walking or tram, or biking. A bike hire is just around the corner and biking is a quick and easy way around the city. tram 4 is 2 minutes walk away. Being away from the centre suited us fine, as getting there only took 10 minutes bike, or tram, or 20minutes walk, and it is a relief not to be in the mix of the mayhem. A very good supermarket is around the corner, as are quite a few restaurants.

The apartment itself is classy, spacious, lovely high ceilings, quirky decorations, large bedrooms, large comfortable beds, high quality fittings in bathroom, heaps of towels. One room is larger, with ensuite, the other, still has ample space, with shower and sink, separate toilet down the hall.

The huge couch was comfy, wifi excellent, every appliance newish and worked! Nespresso machine a bonus, multitude of crockery all in good condition, the kitchen has all in it that would be needed to cook with, gas stove, oven/microwave, we cooked a couple of nights, it is a large kitchen, easy to use, plenty of pots, wok etc.. It was great to have a washing machine and dryer.

The apartment was spotlessly clean in all regards. It is a find, way more comfortable and appealing than a hotel, I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

I cannot recommend highly enough,

“Excellent apartment”

This beautifully designed apartment lies near the Skinny Bridge and is in a quiet area of Prinsengracht, but within easy reach of Waterlooplein and Rembrandtsplein. The interior is very modern, stylish, comfortable and well-equipped. The terrace is a bonus and catches the sun until mid-afternoon in summer. The large lounge windows look out on to the canal and you can watch the procession of boats as they sail out on to the river. There are several restaurants and supermarkets in the area. All in all, the apartment lives up fully to its photos. The owner, Merian, was very helpful throughout. You wIll not be disappointed.

“A luxrious, convenient, and charming apartment on a quiet canal street”
Reviewed May 31, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We've rented upscale apartments before but Merian B's apartment was above and beyond all others. Our request for earlier than usual check-in was accommodated by Merian's friend Lucien who met us with keys and a tour of amenities. My husband especially liked the Apple TV and surround sound that his IPad could mirror. The kitchen was equipped with a high end dishwasher, fridge, oven and range in addition to many other small appliances. Our daughter lived for a while in the Netherlands during college so was especially loving the toastie press. This is a light and airy renovated 17th century canal house, beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and great bathrooms plus it is a short walk to museums, restaurants, cafes, markets, and a minute to the tram stop for other explorations. Buy a herring sandwich there. It is delicious.

“An ideally located and fabulous place to stay in Amsterdam.”

Our family of four enjoyed a six night stay in the beautiful Prinsengracht home. All the amenities of home were included in this ultra modern and high end designed apartment. We cooked a few meals, enjoyed the sunshine on the back porch and couldn't get enough of the view of the canal and gabled homes from the numerous living room windows. An iphone dock with surround sound, wifi and TVs were perfect. We walked everywhere from this ideal residential and very quiet area. Restaurants, shopping and everything you need, including tram #4 are steps away. Our vacation to see the tulips was made perfect with these wonderful accomodations. Our hostess was lovely and very easy and flexible. Highly recommended.
