“A nice hotel”
Reviewed 15 May 2012

We had a wonderful stay in Amsterdam in this hotel, May 2012. The hotel had a wonderful lady in the reception who helped make our stay just perfect. She had a lot of tips of where to go and what to see, and helped us with the arrangements. If you ever read this - Thank you!. The hotel is located within walking distance of the city center and many of the main attractions in Amsterdam. The rooms were nice and clean, and the breakfast was excellent. I would certainly stay in this hotel again on my next trip to Amsterdam.

Room Tip: You should get a room on the first floor or higher. There is too much noise from the street on the g...

Nice and reasonably priced hotel in a quiet area. Note the 5% extra city tax added to the room price, paid upon arrival. This was something that wasn’t made clear when booking the hotel so it caught us by surprise. The room was poorly insulated so we could hear the lift, people walking in the corridor and talking in the other rooms. Our room on the fourth floor was relatively small but clean. Friendly and helpful staff in the 24 hour open reception. The hotel is located only a few minutes’ walk from a tram stop where tram number 4 and 25 leave frequently, taking you in to the city in just 15-20 minutes. The breakfast buffet included in the price was ok but the breakfast room is pretty small so at times you had to wait to get seated since the hotel was fully booked during the Queen’s Day celebration when we were there. Free WiFi that worked without problems.

I and my wife stayed in the All Seasons for four nights during the Carnival break in February. I chose it because of its belonging to the Accor group, which I find quite dependable and good value for money. From the airport we took the Connexion shuttle, which for some strange reason, cannot pick you up at the same hotel on your departure. They can drop you off but can't pick you up. Even the driver didn't know why.

Anyway, about the hotel. Our first night was spent in one of the tiniest rooms I have ever seen on the ground floor. There wasn't even room to put our suitcase on the floor. This wasn't a last minute checkin either, having booked months ahead. Other rooms were available but the man at the desk deemed it logical to put us in the smallest room in the hotel.

The next morning, chatting to the girl at reception, who was very friendly, we mentioned where we were. She was shocked to find out we were in that cubbyhole and immediately moved us to decent quarters. This new room was perfect and totally adequate for our needs. There was no noise from the street below.

In the room there is an appliance for heating water and plenty of tea and instant coffee envelopes. The television was plasma and on the wall facing the bed.

Breakfast, included in the rate, was excellent with plenty of variety. There were several types of croissant, cold cereals including muesli, yogurts, a variety of jams, even eggs and bacon. The best part was the coffee machine, which produced a delicious capuccino. The women working at breakfast seemed to be Filipino or Malasian and were always very outgoing and friendly, greeting everyone and asking if we wanted anything else. All in all, I would say that the hotel staff was well trained to satisfy the customer's needs.

As far as location goes, the hotel is in a quiet area, closer to the Museum Quarter than the central train station, but only a few minutes walk to the tram stop. The Van Gogh Museum is 1.5 kilometers away and walking slowly (12 minutes a kilometer) it would take you 18 minutes. A Lidl supermarket is a few meters away to the east on Stadhouderskade and on the large avenue to the west, the Van Wouststraat, there are seemingly non-stop ethnic restaurants, mainly of an Oriental persuasion. There is a cash machine in front of the Roots restaurant, at Stadhouderskade 123.

Sadly I did not encounter any bedbugs or perhaps they didn't find my blood enticing.

In conclusion, considering that lodging is very expensive in Amsterdam, I would definitely recommend the All Seasons.

Room Tip: Do not, let me repeat, accept the broom closet passing as a room on the ground floor.

I booked this room in march 2012, sadly I did not read trip advisor prior reviews, trusting that as the hotel is part of the ACCOR group (sofitel and co), this hotel would be clean. What a mistake!!! they are infested with bed bugs! The management is totally irresponsible and is renting the rooms although completely aware of the problem.

I woke up in the morning discovering a few bed bugs in my bed and mentionned it to the management who were in denial and tried to undermine the situation.

The nighmare started a few days later: I was covered head to toes with hundred bites. These things are nasty and difficult to get rid of. So, considering the following other reviews (see below), I would recommend that you avoid this place like hell.

,Excellent location for Trams into centre Amsterdam. Clean Hotel, Linen changed Daily. Strange Bedroom layout, watch out for high step into Bath.Adequate Breakfast if somewhat repetative.Avoid rooms on same floor as reception and below ground level we did experience one sleepless night because of noise. We would stay here again but request rooms on higher floors.

Room Tip: Avoid Rooms close to Reception. Avoid Rooms below Street level
