Although I didn't meet Anne Marie the correspondence by text and email was excellent. Anne Marie always kept us informed and was available at all times. If you are looking for a five star hotel with clinical and boring decor, this is not the place for you. I have stayed in many top class hotels however I chose the apartment for its quirkiness and location, the pictures are so accurate. It was so warm and cosy and the bed was so comfortable. Please don't expect to cook a 3 course meal, but if you go on holiday to cook then once again this isn't the place for you!!! Totally perfect for my needs and best of all a massive cup for my morning cup of tea !! The garden is such a bonus. The sauna was an added treat. Anyway if you want to visit and stay in the best location for Amsterdam, this is the place for you. Unfortunately 5 nights wasn't enough but the good news is I cant wait to go back!
Anne Marie was delightful and hospitible. The rooms were comfortable with all the ammenities that one could want.
Location was very good, close to the city yet far enough to enjoy some quiet time along the canal. Anne was very accommodating & helpful! Highly recommended =)
OH MY GOODNESS. Where to begin? Anne is amazing. THAT is where to begin because without her the rest never happens. She is so helpful and charming and personable. She really went out of her way to make that apartment comfy. And what a FANTASTIC apartment. It just goes on and on!!!! Still can't believe it was right on the canal. And a boat out front to sit in at night and watch the city light up. Wonderful. I was sick with bronchitis when I got in and she even gave me special herbs to brew which really helped me. The location was close to everything including the mail box drop, supermarket, places to buy postys and stamps, bus stop, ATMs, train station, etc., and there is so much within walking distance you could stay there for two weeks and never be bored. The kitchen was well furnished with everything you would need to cook and had plenty of foodstuffs left such as coffee, tea, sugar, and the like. The Bathrooms was huge by European standards with the biggest tub I have seen in ages! The bedroom had THE MOST comfortable bed and the décor itself was very bohemian and just delightful and relaxing. I loved the twinkle lights and artwork of glass and stone...The garden out back was small and cozy .
Anne made herself very accessible and I cannot tell you, seriously, how very helpful she was to me. Just...Above and beyond .
There is a shared front entrance but your apartment has its own separate door in case you were wondering. It is a gem and an excellent, astounding value for the money in that part of Amsterdam. Just glorious. Thank you!
Perfectly situation within the area known as the "nine streets". A creative quarter and a creative place to stay and enjoy the ambience.
Anne Marie has made a place that you will remember and smile at the artistry of how to creatively use plumbing to make art, lighting, mirrors that reflect the outdoors-indoors.
The week we spent here was a real gift, but then she is also a film maker and creative artist herself, her documentary and book are available to watch and to read, so how could it be anything but an artistic adventure?
We are looking forward to another visit in the new year, and of course being so central it makes life even more easy to explore this beautiful quarter of Amsterdam.
I would say it is not just a recommendation to visit Amsterdam, but to also explore the world of the creative mind and vision of Anne Marie.
The location is perfect for those wanting to stay on the canal but close to all the amenities Amsterdam has to offer.
Ann Marie was helpful with directions and the apartment has information on local sights of interest. Defiantly re booking.
I loved the quirky design and it was so peaceful with a bonus of a courtyard garden
