We stayed on SS Rotterdam as part of a weekend conference, we arrived on Thursday and left on Sunday morning.
We had a great cabin B013, it was modern and spacious with 4 port hole windows. A bit mean with the towels, only one large and one hand towel each, not particularly big or fluffy. I always need an extra towel as I have longish hair, find a 4 star without extra towels a bit irritating! The room did have everything else, coffee machine, iron etc
The only problem was it was very difficult to find and we did spend a lot of time getting lost walking up and down narrow corridors.
The meals were good, a great selection at breakfast and helpful staff. The evening meal food was good as well but we were part of a conference so we didn’t experience the usual dining room and service. The staff were great, they all wore naval uniforms so they looked very smart and they were very friendly. Staying on a boat was good fun and we enjoyed exploring it and going out onto the decks for drinks. We got a great view over the port. The boat is in a very good central location with easy access to bars and shops. It’s an interesting place, lots of history and we did several tours to include a harbour tour by boat. You can get a water taxi from the boat to take you into town or hire Dutch cycles, all good.

The hotel captures quite successfully its past as a 1950s cruise liner with interesting decor, photos etc., although we were surprised that much of the ship was inaccessible to guests unless paying for a guided tour. Our room was small but well equipped and the facilities were as expected for this type of hotel. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the Lido restaurant was acceptable and dinner good. Additional buffet style meals were provided as part of the conference that we were attending. The location is quite a way from the city centre but some amenities can be reached on foot and a water taxi runs from the ship.

Room tip: Not all rooms have portholes. We were glad to be upgraded to one with two portholes, as the room was quite small.

Overall, disappointed as it is a docked ship in need of significant upgrades in terms of amenities and food & bar service. It was virtually impossible to control the sleeping room/cabin temperature. There was no business center or workout room. Given the room rates, there are nicer, more conveniently located places to stay in Rotterdam.

Nice stay, attentive staff, we had a good diner for fair pricing.
Due to early depart from Rotterdam-Den Hague Airport and the 30 min. driving dstance, we could not enjoy the breakfast in the ship.
There are many differnent types of "Cabins" Rather large hotel rooms.
It is possible to have a ship-tour if you pre-arrange it.
THe hotel is in a scenic environment, but NOT in the City Centre

We had the most wonderful day out onboard this gorgeous ship. The SS Rotterdam is an absolute gem.
Gorgeous 1950s design and wonderful volunteers that guide you around, and give you little insights to this magnificent ocean liner.
Everything has been restored to perfection and hats off the city of Rotterdam for saving her and giving her a home .
This is one ship that deserved to be saved for future generations .
