Although Rotterdam is a very modern city for quite a long time already, still it is possible to find some vestiges of its medieval past. As a matter of fact, as they said, there is only one significant building remained from this long time passed period, that is, the Sint Laurenskerk. That is a protestant church, from the late gothic period.
The church appears as a perfect example of late gothic architecture and is an important symbol of Rotterdam.
The church has got a very nice exterior and interior with the copper choir fence, the sepulchers of sea heroes, the carillon and the organs and the bronze doors.
We were very glad to see this church in Rotterdam.

Thank Oleg Y

Having visited a number of cathedrals in Europe, we didn't find this too exciting. It looked fantastic from the outside but didn't have much to see when we walked in... If you do have time to spare, then worth a visit but otherwise.

When we visited this church they were renovating it, so I cannot say much about the building or the inside. The facade at the front beside the statue of Erasmus was free and looked impressive when lit up at night.

A landmark in Rotterdam, this is the only medieval building left in Rotterdam. Take a look inside, the church organ is magnificent, the statues and drawings are well worth a look.

Cathedral looks imposing form outside but very unusual inside - boasting a cafe and even a pieces of different worlds religions, even far from Christianity. It is even used as a club by students
