“Great location, nice clean hotel, no frills”
Reviewed 21 February 2011

After eventually finding the hotel (it's located on a back street from Grand Place) we settled into our room, which was spacious enough, flatscreen tv, small bathroom, with a below average shower, but it was fine for a night or two. The location of the hotel is great to travellers who are looking to see the city centre delights. Nice stay, friendly staff.

From Saturday 1st to Sunday 2nd, my (then) fiance and I had reservations at Floris Louise in Brussels. We had a long day (looking for weddinglocations), so we wanted a luxurious stay outside the city center of Brussels. We had carefully chosen Floris Louise, which had a nice deal, but you had to pay affront.. When we wanted to check in, this proved impossible. There were "too few" bookings, so we were referred to another hotel in the center, Arlequin Grand Place. After a tiring day we did not want to drive downtown. The receptionist assured us that the hotel had the same quality and level, as Louise, and she gave us no alternative. We had no choice: our money was gone and we had nothing or we had to go to another hotel. When we found the hotel had turned out to be a 3-star instead of a 4-stars such as Louise. Then there appeared to be holes in the walls of the corridor of our room and electric wires sticking out from the ceiling of the room, there were mold stains on the rim, the night light on one side of the bed did not work (we have asked for replacement, but when we returned to the room four hours later, it was still not working) and we found underwear from previous guests behind the TV. All in all, this was not pleasant experience.
It had certainly made a difference as receptionists, both Louisa and Arlequin would have taken our complaints seriously. We complained at check in, at check out and also laten on. We were then promissed to receive half of our money back. Now, almost a year later, we are still waiting.... never got a daim!

Centrally located, but not worth the money. Terribly noisy and not very clean. We also stayed for one night the week before at the other Floris Hotel (Avenue) which was much better (clean, modern, and pleasant) and only ten minutes away from the Grand Place. We would definitely go back to this one but not to the Floris Grand Place.

Read all the reviews - it's all true. Some people perceive things worse than others. General consensus is that it's pretty bad place with a fantastic location. Room is small, hotel entrance hard to find.

The day before flying home to Oz, a friend and I decided to book a room in the centre of Brussels to enjoy the evening without taking a long trek back to where we'd been staying previously.

We booked a room at Hotel Floris, quite cheaply. There was initially some confusion to where exactly we were meant to check in (eventually realising check-in was down at their sister property near De Brouckiere Place). We were allowed to store our bags at the hotel as we weren't due to check-in yet.

When we reached Hotel Floris Grand Place, we were surprised how lovely it was for the price we paid, and how fantastic the location was. If you're looking for a great hotel 'scene' then you may look elsewhere but if you're just looking for a comfortable place to sleep (and with everything Brussels has to offer you'd be mad to stay cooped up in your hotel room) then the Hotel Floris is more than adequate. It's a little worn and has probably seen better days, but a lot better than any other 3-star hotel I encountered in Europe.

The guy on reception was friendly and helpful, and made our stay very enjoyable. It was a great final night of our European trip.

My mother and her friend booked through Cresta to stay at this three star superior hotel...
1Exterior of hotel littered with graffiti.
2Window boxes full of dead flowers.
3Inside reception, lights taped off or bulbs dead.
4Notice on the door stating no reception at hotel, check in for this hotel at another hotel.
5No personnel on site at Floris Grand Place Hotel.
6No bar and no breakfast facility in hotel at time of booking.
7Room- dirty curtains and carpets, cigarette burns in bedcover, floor to ceiling cobwebs and mould on walls.
8Broken mirror in bathroom.
9Stairs - stair carpet had peeling runners and two upper staircases uncarpeted, pieces of marble out of steps.
10Dining room and reception nothing like in brochure photos.
Both my mother and her friend felt unsafe in this hotel, they had to find another hotel in a foreign city to stay in that night.

When we arrived we found the notice on the door: The reception was at another hotel, 120 metres away. So, no reception, no breakfast (you have to go, in the morning, to the 7th floor of the other hotel). And, surprise, surprise, a very cold room (no 42), not suitable for anyone higher than 1.65 cm and no hot water at the bathroom. Avoid this hotel. I have thrown away 135 euros - to stay there...
