Certainly not Michelin star, but the food was good and reasonably priced. The rabbit and the stew were very good. Selection of beers and wines was a bit limited -- one would at least hope for more beers on the list in Belgium and a few more wines from S America and Oceania. It's Belgium so the service was slow, but they were busy (which is a good sign). A pleasant experience.

Cosy but funky modern decor in this Brussels bistrot which matches a warm welcome with honestly priced good food. Set on the beautiful Place Ste Catherine, this restaurant has a very varied menu offering traditional Belgian dishes (Carbonnade beef stew for example), spectacular potato based coloured dishes (particularly appreciated) or the more gourmet recipes such as swordfish steak. Really something for everyone - whatever the taste. Very warm welcome from friendly staff too. Couldn't fault it!

Large portions and fantastic quality Belgian dishes. We can recommend the traditional beef stew (Carbonades à la flamande) and a fish stew casserole (Cassolette de poissons "Kombijma") which was a delicious cream based dish of prawns, mussels and sea bass. The restaurant also had a decent and varied wine list.

The personal tell us that they have "fresh" monkfish ..
Of course it wasn't fresh, as I expected, but now it comes the real thing:
THE FISH ON MY PLATE IT REALLY STINKS!!
The apologies, offered me another plate .. which I obviously refused.
Too bad this things happening in a contry that holds Europe Council!!

It was one of those evenings when every seat outside was full and little wonder. Kim bij ma is set in picturesque St Catherine's and as dusk falls on the cobbled boulevard who could resist the call of the attractive, simple, well priced menu.

The fit and experienced crew of Kombijma expend great energy as their tables fill with hungry travellers. The best Belgian beers, various wines and mineral waters are rapidly and efficiently dispensed. Orders taken without notes arrive correctly in good time. These guys know their game.

We four shared two excellent beef carpaccio entrees to get us going. Choose carefully with the wine, but with any Belgian beer it is hard to err.

If it's your turn for mussels, trust the house and go Kombijma, why not? For something different, loosen your belt and tackle a plate of well seasoned ribs. One of us was disappointed with the Potato Normande which turned out to be jacket potato with a substantial amount of good Brie, rather than the gratin she expected. She was consoled with some spare spare ribs and the carpaccio of course had been jolly good.

When it came, the bill was both accurate and reasonable. Good value for money.

In the cooler seasons the well designed interior would be warm and comfortable and closer to the kitchen.

We would definitely recommend.
