We recently spent 5 nights at this hotel. When we checked in, they had our early booking details all to hand. Check in was efficient and we had to pre-pay for our stay. Breakfast is an optional extra but the variety and price was well worth it in our opinion. Our room was of sufficient size , clean and well appointed. Bed was two singles pushed together to give us the requested double bed. No cupboards, but sufficient shelving and space for our clothes/luggage. Bathroom contained a sink , shower and toilet which was all we needed as we were out every day all day. Two minor negatives. I wet shave and the sink did not accommodate a plug, and our air conditioning did not seem to work, and when we left the window open the street noise was quite loud, but we managed. (yes, Brussels was warm and dry for our visit - strange but true!). Great value for money in my opinion, and centrally located, being a short walk to the central station and CBD.

This hotel was quite close to the centre in what appeared to be the museum district. The hotel was nicely decorated and clean. The room was quite small but overlooked the street. The bathroom looked quite new and the decor was to a good standard. The only things that were a bit disappointing were the lack of a kettle/tea or coffee facilities, no bedside table, and the open shelves/clothes rail which made everything look a bit messy. I would also have liked a safety deposit box or safe in the room. On the whole, this was a clean and fairly priced hotel.

My wife and I stayed at Motel One after a bus tour. I chose this hotel based on good reviews, cost and location. Our expectation was we would be spending most of our time taking day train trips. We took trains to Gent and Antwerp. So - we really did not want to spend a lot on a central hotel. The location was great - a short walk to Central Station and to the Grand Place. The room was adequate in size - certainly not big - but after 4 nights - feeling a little tighter. The room was clean enough for me - did not overly impress the wife however - mold from window leaks in our room. We had a comfortable king size bed - and our inner courtyard room was very quiet. Wifi was fine - only amenities we missed were a hot water pot and room safe.

There was a Carrefour Express Store across the street. For most breakfast we hit the store for yogurt, fruit and french rolls. There is a Paul Cafe across the street as well.

For three of our dinners we found a nice restaurant - the Garden City Cafe - down at the end of the rue de la Enseignement - to the east of the hotel. This was a local restaurant in a treed like plaza - away from the tourist crowds and with the local residents.

The location to the train station (nine minutes down hill), close to the Grand Place and old town as well as the cost - made this a good choice and I would do it again.

Room tip: Our inner courtyard room was very quiet. That was nice.

This hotel has a very good location in center Brussels. Near Motel One are Grand Palace, Town Holl, cathedral. Very friendly personal, clean rooms. Beautiful terrasse and bar. Tasty breakfasts. But rooms didn't have fridge, kettle.
