This is exactly what the description says - - statue of Charles de Gaulle, as a younger man, with an information board.
It's a bit out of the way and overshadowed by the saxophones on the bridge, but if interested in history worth a look.

I cannot disagree with previous reviewers who tend to be underwhelmed by this statue. In view of the actions of De Gaul it is right that a statue commemorating him is here, and it is also fair to say that it provides photographic interest to pictures you might want to take of Dinant and the citadel.
It’s just a pity that the statue wasn’t a bit more special.

I have to say that I find this statue quite small, while his actions are quite famous in this region. There is not much to see and it is not very prominent. The story behind him is very interesting however.

Just a nice corner for an Instagram pic. You want on the other side of the bridge, direction train station and you are going to notice all the colored buildings on the river Meuse.

Just across the Meuse from the Citadel and the collegial church, besides Charles de Gaulle Bridge, this statue is in a lovely location and makes for some nice pictures. Erected here as de Gaulle was shot while serving in the French army in the defence of Dinant in the First World War. Worth a brief stop.

Charles de Gaulle Statue is standing at the entrance of the Charles de Gaulle bridge. Nothing special except for the statue. The best part is you can take a nice photo of the statue with the Citadel and Church of Our Lady as the backdrop!

Modern design of later President of France, Charles de Gaulle as a young Lieutenant during WW1. French army blocked the German invasion for some time at the river Meuse and Lt de Gaulle was wounded at the hand during these operations. I was surprised to learn about his presence in Dinant thanks to the monument. It is modern design and the more one looks at it, the more details one can detect of the de Gaulle authentic looks. Well done, informative, modern art to be accepted and respected.
