We stayed there twice because we like like to visit the historical Railway line Mariembourg-Treignes, just minutes away. The house, its interior and furnishings are 99.9 % Original Belle Epoque. And so are the warm reception and deliciuous cooking by the lady of the house. For a middle aged Belgian staying there is like visiting the house of your grandparents. All rooms have historical decorations focused on a particular theme. We had the "railway" room and the "Belgium" room. Chris, the owner, is an Antwerp character who has worked in S.America as a biologist. He speaks English,French and Spanish and is always in for some candid conversation about the problems of the world. Try his wonderful marmelades, all made with fruit from the garden and picked in the wild. Tease him about the geology of the area and off you go. Several bars and restos in town, which also has a nice park full of weird modern playthings. Very nice walks in the surroundings, not too steep. Plenty of maps and books about how to get around in the reading salon next to the dining room.More
