We settled on this B&B because of the reviews and location, plus room to accommodate two couples plus a three year old on a business trip. I am sad to say I was quite disappointed and the establishment did not meet our expectations.
The positive - the location is great and just a 6 minute walk to the castle and old town. The tram is directly out front and parking is only €6 for 24 hrs, assuming you can find a spot. The building itself is charming and old. Our host greeted us and was very helpful and hospitable. Breakfast was decent, but refills of food and beverage never came. Our rooms were large and easily fit everyone comfortably.
The negative - This location is particularly noisy because of street traffic and construction. There is a lot of it! We were housed in a wing off the main house. The first thing you notice is the odor which, during the night, became progressively worse. This explains the many potpourri satchels and air fresheners everywhere. The rooms appeared to be clean but could be much cleaner. The king bed was the typical two double set up, but split apart during the night. Beware the black side lamps as they get incredibly hot and caused one heck of a burn. Don't think I'll be returning.

It's a tipycal house turned into a hotel. It has a cute garden with a rabbit, the room was very confortable, with a big bed and good pillows. It's decoration is rustic-luxe ¿? Breakfast is included and good quality and variety. Staff super friendly and nice, they keep our luggage during the last day when e had already check out. Really close to the center, 5' walking. Only con is that since it was facing the garden everyone could see us if we didn't close the curtains, and also you could hear other guests walking in the upper floor. I'w come back for sure, its so cosy. Free WIFI

Room tip: Upper floors should be more quiet and discreet.

I stayed in B&B Onderland for four nights with my husband and three children 5, 3, and 1 years old. We had the ground floor deluxe quad room which was very convenient for us since we didn't have to worry about wrestling with stairs. The room was quite spacious and comfortable for us and satisfied our requirements.

The private garden was such a treat to use and the kids loved playing with the B&B's pet rabbit. Perfect for my husband and three small children. The breakfast buffet included a variety of treats including toast, croissants, cereal, cold meats, yogurt, juice and hot beverages.

The only negative was that on the first night we didn't have any hot water, but after that we had no issues.

The location was very convenient to Gravensteen Castle and to the tram stop. It was a pleasant surprise to find this hidden gem!

At first glance the Onderland does not look prepossessing. However, the experience of spending time in a truly old house with a lovely courtyard, with a resident rabbit and cat, is well worth it. We were warmly welcomed and, in deference to our age maybe, were given a ground-floor room (no elevator). A big room, overlooking the courtyard, with a large four-poster bed, a sitting room and a brand-new modern bathroom with all mod cons. Heat too, which was needed as it was chilly and very damp outside. The owners did all they could to help us get to where we wanted to go, and the good thing was that there is a tram stop right in front of the house. Two stops and you are downtown Ghent, at the Gravesteen, with the tourboats and restaurants. Bed could be a bit more comfortable, there is a small "ditch"between the mattress and the side of the bed, and it may take a bit more care to get out of this bed, but it was comfortable to sleep on. Breakfast was very good. All in all, definitely a place we would want to get back to. The owners are still working on the place. Well worth a visit.

Perfect location in the city, the hosts were delightful and very helpful. The food was fresh, I slept like a baby, we really enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean and fresh. We will return, such a great place!
