Great staff and service, beautiful, clean big room with high ceiling, big windows, large soft bed with lots of fluffy pillows, nice bathroom with rain shower, satellite television. Hotel is very close to historic city centre and shopping streets. I highly recommend having a meal at Patrick Foley's where the staff is like family, extremely friendly and the food is to die for! The Saint Patricks Day celebrations and six nations rugby were once again awesome. The room was on the streetside, it was very quiet, had no noise from the large party going on at the pub.

We were looking for accommodation for a family of 5 on new year's eve and found the Boutique Hotel Onderbergen, which had a couple of options: a family room and a self-contained apartment with a separate entrance. We went for the latter. The apartment itself is very nice, with good furnishings, especially the bed linen and towels. The two minor downsides are: (i) the communal entrance to the apartment block which has a foul smell which thankfully does not extend into the apartment itself; (ii) the weird bathroom sink which appears to be made from mdf (?) and was not entirely clean (otherwise the apartment was spotless). Despite these slight downsides, the apartment represents excellent value for money for the centre of Ghent and we would definitely stay again.

When I booked this hotel I thought the price was too good to be true. What I was expecting was certainly not what we got. Lovely clean, warm room, very comfy beds. Bathroom was spotless with plenty of towels and toiletries. Staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. Secure parking and an Irish Pub attached to it. Great place with good food and lovely Guinness on tap. Hotel is a short walk from the town centre.

Room Tip: Use the trams to get around, buy an all day ticket, the go everywhere and stop near the hotel

Three nights here in room 12 which is on the top floor. You have to negotiate some pretty steep winding stairs which wouldn’t be good for everyone. The hotel location is excellent; quiet yet close to everything. There is a reception but not 24 hour although you can pick up a phone there if you need something. Meals are served in Foleys Irish Bar next door. We didn’t have the breakfast. The room was just lovely - spacious, warm and well equipped with a mini bar and TV. We couldn’t get the English channels as I think a remote control wasn’t working. However this is a very nice place to stay and in a great location.

Just at the border of the city-center.
The service is excellent, the breakfast is very good.
The rooms are clean and large (at least the ones that we stayed).
The building where the hotel is located looks like is constructed of different buildings so a number of stairs and corridors to find your way.

Great place to be!
