Useful info:
1. Very close to the central station (walk-able, can even pull your trolley bags from the station till this place)
2. Tram available at walking distance to the city center
3. Very helpful folks. He even got us a microwave to our room although it was not actually part of the room.
4. Spacious room with wardrobes, bath tub, table, sofa, extra cot, etc
5. Lift available.
6. Some people have reviewed that it is a noisy place. My room faced the track - still the sound was hardly audible, definitely not disturbing.
7. Value for money

Accessible to decent restaurants near the station on the other side of the track. There is a department store also close by on the other side of the track.

I chose this place as it was close to the station and it proved a blessing. Ghent is a place that shuts down a bit early (6pm) and hence if you have early morning / late evening trains, I would strongly recommend this place.

Shops at Ghent shut down very early ~6pm. Trams however are operational till 11pm or so.

Location is perfect: right behind the station. I haven't seen a single good hotel in Belgium (unless they were $400/night), so this one is no exception. It's an ADEQUATE stay if you are there for the day (clean, convenient location, safe, good service, has parking, etc).

Its pretty close to the St. Pieters railway station & the tram line. Convenient for travellers who want to go on day tours to Brugge or Brussels. Has a good parking facility.

There was a power cut for 4 hours on saturday morning (9th Feb 2013). When contacted the person at the reception brushed it off as something that happens quite often in Belgium. To top it the water was also stopped in the bathroom. We tolerated the situation with patience, but were not really pleased when we were asked the reason for checking out an hour late (12:00 instead of 11:00) on sunday morning. This I thought was pretty rude after what we had to put up with the previous morning. Hotel can improve by showing a little more care and concern for guests.

Pulling up to the hotel, the area seemed a bit run down. ...Parking onsite was very useful.... The staff seemed friendly if not a bit withdrawn? ... The room was clean and adequate and done the job for 3 lads staying in Gent.... Short tram trip into the city so not so bad. You get what you pay for and this was just that... Decent enough.

As my partner and I do a lot of citytrips, we visit a lot of hotels. Often chain hotels which offer nothing but standards and trained friendliness. We were very excited that in Hotel Adoma this was not the case.
It's a charming family hotel, only 10 minutes from the city center. As the hotel is run by one family, you really feel the enthusiasm and love they have for working here and satisfying their guests. We stayed in room number 12, which was a beautiful and very clean room with a big bathroom.
Hotel Adoma offered a very variated breakfast especially for the low price we had to pay for it.
If we ever plan on visiting Ghent again in the future, we are determined to book again at this lovely hotel!
