“A nice little hotel well located but not sure it deserves its high rating!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2012

We enjoyed our 2 night stay here but the reviews on here have over-hyped this hotel.

Its a pretty building in a small back street in close walking distance to all the main attractions. The reception is small but welcoming and the staff very helpful. Our room was nice but not perfect and had a few teething problems (the trouser press didn't work, sliding wardrobe doors that shreeched horrendously and we couldn't get the temparature right - there is air conditioning but it seemed to remain very warm in the room.) We would of mentioned these but in a 2 night stay it seemed hardly worth it as we spent so little time in the hotel.

For a "luxury" hotel of this price we would of expected a few more extras eg there is a mini bar but no tea/coffee making and the charge for dvd rental is high. Also it should be noted that the building next door is currently being renovated (as of Feb 2012) so you can forget a afternoon sleep as there is constant drilling!)

That said the free breakfast was excellant, the shower wonderful (nice to have a spa bath in the room as well) and the bed really comfortable. They also do free tours of the town which is a nice touch.

Very comfortable hotel located a few minutes walk from the shops and major attractions of Bruges. Pleasant and efficient service. Traditional and spotless public areas and our room was well appointed with space to move around in. Great breakfasts - 11 out of 10! Do take the free walking tour of the City but ensure you ask the staff for the exact spot to meet the guide (who is excellent by the way). We booked via Eurostar which meant we paid a very affordable price. The only minor grumble we had was the high temperature of the room - even with the heat turned down - BUT I found this was true of our other hotel visits in Europe/UK. If/when we return to Bruges we shall definitely book the Prinsenhof again. Tony & Jo Birtwistle, New Zealand

Room Tip: I asked for a quiet room but I suspect that, due to its location off the main street, all rooms may...

Hotel Prinsenhof in Bruge was absolutely delightful, from the high level of friendly service - Thierry delivered complementary champagne to our room on the second afternoon to say sorry for the disturbance from the decorators working on our floor. To the fabulous super delux room my husband and I were up graded to - free of charge.
It is centrally located so not far from the train station and within easy walking distance to the central market square and other attractions.
The breakfast selection was good and delicious, it set us up for the cold but fine days of wandering the pretty cobbled streets of Bruges.
I would definitely stay again and recommend to my friends and family.

This centrally located hotel was charming and so convenient for the railway station and the centre. We easily walked everywhere. My wife and I had a great room with a superb bathroom and shower. Our three adult children were equally pleased in their "Deluxe Triple". Free wi-fi access in the rooms is always welcome. The breakfast selection and quality was as good as any I have experienced on many business trips throughout Europe. All the staff were very friendly and keen to help. We will certainly use this hotel again and I don't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Selected this hotel based on the previous reviews and what a good decision that turned out to be. The hotel is a perfect base for a trip to Brugge. Not far from the train station and very close to the central market square. The high level of friendly service started from the moment we arrived and at end of our trip they helped us out by taking us back to the station - thx Thierry!

The room (no 49) has everything you'd hope for - big comfortable bed, deep spa bath, clean, modern, etc. Perfect place to come back to after wandering the streets in the cold. Had the excellent breakfast one morning.

Would I stay again - definitely!

Room Tip: I'd go for room 49 - top floor and catches the sun during the day.

OK - so it wasnt cheap but then again Belgium isnt is it!
Fantastic room, lovely boutique style hotel with a great location. If you want a little luxury at a premium but dont want the ostentatiousness that the larger hotels charge an arm and a leg for then this is a really good middle ground. Breakfast was again pricey but really really good.
