There are so many hotels in Bruges that selecting one for a 4-night visit was a challenge. We chose the Prinsenhof based primarily on TA reviews and were not disappointed. As we explored Bruges, we passed many hotels located a bit closer to the central square but on much busier streets than the Prinsenhof. This may contribute the quietness of the hotel, which is about an 8-minute/10 euro cab ride from the train station. It was about a pleasant, 10-minute walk to the market square and about the same to several restaurants recommended in Rick Steves' guidebook to Belgium. As for the hotel, don't expect a big, commercial place with a separate check-in desk and concierge desk. Here, one or two staffers handle everything smoothly. The same was true for the breakfast service. Want an omelett? The friendly gal in charge of breakfast will make it. The breads, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage were all terrific. The AC worked well but be sure to get a quick tutorial on the control pad.

We spent two of our days in Bruges on tours, one to Flanders Fields and one a private tour to see the White Cliffs of Dover and Dunkirk. Both days were spent with guide Nathan (info@visitbruges.org) who is outstanding. The other two days we toured Bruges, and that's enough to do the town. If we had it to do again, we'd again stay at the Prinsenhof.

We spent 3 days at this wonderful hotel. Centrally located within walking distance of all Bruges sights and surrounded by great restaurants. We stayed in room 51 which was delightful - lovely room, great view with shower and a fabulous bath. Robes and slippers in the great bathroom and excellent hot chocolate in the room. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the hotel is beautiful after a top quality renovation in recent years. There is a great restaurant at the rear entrance to the hotel called Vlaamse Pot - which we highly recommend for its lovely ambiance and good food. This hotel will definitely be our home base on our next visit to Bruges. It offers excellent value and a superb location.

We stayed for two nights in October, and were immediately made very welcome by the lovely staff. On arrival, the receptionist noticed it was my girlfriend’s birthday during our stay and immediately upgraded us free of charge to a deluxe room. The room itself was excellent, and had a balcony and jacuzzi bath.
The next morning at breakfast we were given a special reserved table and brought birthday waffles!
The hotel is quite small but has lovely decor and a very nice atmosphere. The staff couldn’t have done enough for us, and the breakfast was first class. There’s no restaurant, but this was a minor quibble considering how many nice places there were to eat within walking distance. We’d stay again.

From the welcome, through the style and comfort of the room, the excellent breakfasts, the desire of all staff we met to make us feel welcome to the wave off as we left, this hotel represents the epitome of hospitality and understated luxury of an effectively planned and operated boutique hotel. It's quiet yet central location make it an ideal base for visiting the beautiful city of Bruges. There is a wide range of restaurants and bars very close by for lunch, dinner and drinks. We have no hesitation recommending Prinsenhof to discerning travellers looking for a quiet, comfortable, individual hotel.

Room Tip: All the rooms we saw were well appointed. Our own room was extremely comfortable and quiet with excellent amenities.

Wonderful stay in this lovely hotel. Location excellent, close to the Markt and all the sights.
The staff were absolutely fabulous, they really care about their guests and go the extra mile to be helpful.
Room marvelous, balcony was a sun trap in the late afternoon, there was a separate seating area and a jacuzzi bath. All this added to our ability to really relax and chill.
Nice breakfast served with a smile. 4 nights in Bruges seems like a long time, we could have stayed longer....

Room Tip: Best rooms up top!
